What's the difference between Josef Fritzl & Gerry McCann?

At least Josef took interest in his kids.

LOL!!!!!!

Are you being serious?

And Diana Was Our Princess thats Why Not some Cheap reality Star

I find it hard how she could be an inspiration to people rather than a cautionary tale. I'd love to hear why anyone post CBB5 would support her or even mourn her.

...her fans aren't in mourning at all. She was a woman on the tele, you didn't know her personally. Get over it.
....yet she was able increase the percentage of women going to take smear tests. So she obviously had some impact upon people. People who know others who have died of cancer will also feel that they can empathise with Jade and her family. Finally, there's those who followed her career for all the years she lived in the spotlight. Sure we never knew her, maybe even never spoke to her, but she was still a fellow human being who died from something she couldn't stop. When someone dies, it's common courtesy to feel remorse or mourn - whether you knew them or not.

You make jade's ignorance sound noble. It's not. Also the increase in people going for their cervical smears are the thicko's who avoided it previously.

And when someone you've never met dies and your at their funeral its common courtesy to say to the relatives, I'm sorry for your loss, but you're an emotional wrecktard if you actually feel it.

I hate it when people compare Jade to Princess Diana. When you consider the gulf in the levels of charity and good deeds caused, between the two, the difference is staggering. I don't remember Diana making her success and fame from sitting naked in front of millions of people, whilst screaming how she doesn't know where East Anglia is, in a reality TV show, only to then RETURN to said show and display how much of an ignorant, narrow-minded bully she was.

Yes, more people are now going to get smear tests. But that would be the case if Cheryl Cole died of it, or Germaine Greer. It's nothing to applaud her for, and it's the only thing these die-hard fans are clinging on to. I've got news for you - it's bollocks.

BTW, I agree with you Shaun... you hit the nail on the head. They are all clinging onto this "she's raised awareness" nonsense. I've been having regular smear tests since I was 16 (and that wasn't yesterday), so anyone who didn't realise they needed them before Jade Goody got cancer is obviously a complete idiot. The information has always been out there, and women/girls have always been informed. Making the choice to ignore the information speaks volumes about that person.

I'm sorry I had know idea that the whole country knew Diana. Oh wait, they didn't, which is why there are no facts to straighten out.

Yes she was a hero of mine ever since I read her autobiography which was published in 2006. Yes she was a role model, an inspiration and a hero of mine, and now she has been cruelly taken from me and many others.

Excuse me are you trying to tell me that every single person who mourned the death of Diana either knew her personally or had been seriously effected by something that she had done? Hell no. But because she did charity work and was a princess, people had no problem saying that they mourned her death. However when Jade dies, just because she hasn't done those things, people feel they have the right to abuse and criticise others, to whom Jade has a major influence in their lives.

And just to make things quite clear. I am not comparing Jade and Diana, I am merely comparing their situations.

And the reason I admired Jade and saw her as a role model had **** all to do with raising awareness of cancer. I am very much aware that her influence on smear tests, ect. has been majorly exagerated by the papers.

Its the way you said it

"People didn't know Diana but yet the country mourned for her"

People felt like they knew her, just as people do with Jade.

Precisely. People had no problem if someone was to say they mourned for Diana. but yet as you can see here, if someone says they are mourning Jade, they ridiculed.

Role model? Yes I guess she was a role model for talentless people; too ugly to be a WAG, too thick to have a career. So thick in-fact that her every calamity kept her in the news and ultimately shortened her lifespan considerably.

But it's all about the money isn't it? Successful via your own sin and stupidity with the media paying for it all sounds pretty good? I'm very sure that it's actually a bit like hell.

It's pretty much the opposite to Princess Diana. Diana didn't get paid, did something meaningful with her LIFE and was killed by the paps rather than died for them.

Jade is a role model for the unaspiring, Princess Diana was an Inspiration and a loss to british culture. Jade ... well ... urrm ... reduced her mouthbreathing carbon emissions.
