Tonight anywhere across the globe at 8.30pm to 9.30pm (local time) it is Earth Hour.

For that one hour you switch off all of your lights in your house. You can leave the TV on etc. as long as your lights are off. It is to save money on your electricity bill and it uses less Carbon Dioxide.

also surely if it was to make a point and so on a total black out for a hour would be better so only essentials on like fridges and freezers

I might turn on all the lights in my house out of spite.

This is just a ridiculous thing people can hide behind and shout timidly "I'm doing something! You aren't! You're a bastard! LALALALALALALA!"

I already use energy-saving bulbs, I rarely have the light on anyway, I recycle and if that bloody isn't enough, I'm happy for the world to die.
