Default Is it a MUST to have 5 GCSE passes??

I have a horrible feeling i will just miss out and get 4 A*-C, Im actually predicted to get 7 passes, but I seriously doubt it.

But when applying for jobs, lets just say I dont get my 5, does it mean I get much less of a chance to get it compared to someone who got 5 even though the job doesnt require anything to do with the subjects i failed??

Im actually getting worried now.... i know for sure that I will fail in Maths, and thats really important

No it is really for college places. For jobs you will need at least 4 GCSE's incuding maths.

Yes in some cases, but some colleges take mature students into consideration incase they didn't quite the grades they needed.

For jobs, probably not. As long as you have good grades in English/Maths, it shouldn't be a problem.

GCSE's are meaningless really. Employers care more about college qualifications.

If you're going for say an office job, having a few more GCSE's might make you look better but the employers will be looking at stuff like Computer Qualifications and such. As long as you get the results that are relevant to what you wanna do you'll be fine.

I think A-levels are more important anyway obviously. And isn't there a way at the college your going that you can re-take Maths. We have that at my sixth form. If you don't get a C in Maths or English you have to do it in Sixth Form.

Taking them final exams can be really intimidating, believe me. GCSE's may mean nothing in the long run, but at the time just knowing what you write in that paper will be what gets you into college or sixth form is quite daunting. :/ I was so scared I'd fail but thankfully I did well.

I'm crapping it for some things. Like for example I'm predicted an A* in geography and I got a D in the mock. Soo I have no chance. It would be nice to get an A* though.

Don't worry, the final exams are so much different. A lot more preperation goes into them and you should do well if you revise the key parts of the subject. I got a CD for English in my mock and came out with AB. Good luckk!

Omgg Im failing soo bad in Maths.... and I know that there is no way I can pass it, its the only thing that I think that i will defenitley not get a C.

So far i already have a secure C for 1 of my Science.

so far:
Italian- Full marks on coursework- A* and predicted an A*
RE- A* in both courseworks, predicted A*
ICT- A in both courseworks, predicted a B
English- B in all coursework, predicted a B/C (I get 2 seperate grades for that)
History- B on 1 coursework done so far, predicted a C, got a D in mocks
Business Studies- Predicted a D, got an E in mocks
Maths- Predicted a C, got an E in mocks

Soo if going by that, I would get 7/8 passes. Im good at cwk but crap at actual exams.

Cheers. Then again everyone in my group got Ds or Cs. Some even E's. And the other group got As and Bs haha. Stupid teacher.

You will be finee. Our Maths pan out over two years, we do three modules depending on set [I did B, A & A*] and they pick the best two which is 50% then 50% is the terminal which is D,C,B,A & A* work. ooo.

Ohh, Maths! I was in the same boat...Maths was never my strongest point and I was constantly pressured by my teacher to get that C. I did tons and tons of practice papers and questions and I found the exams a piece of cake. I got a solid C which I was SO happy about! Good luck with it, Salv!

You seem like an intelligent fellow (i can't believe I just called someone 'fellow'), so I think you'll do fine. Not to say you should therefore be really relaxed and care a lot less, but still

I found maths like the easiest subject bar some of it, most just came natural...

I only got c but that was because we had to be moved out of our class because we didnt get on with teacher so we were only able to get a b and you had to have like 85% to get B.

Thing that annoys me is that Im doing the higher level for Maths (im doing Higher for everything), I keep asking if i can do foundation and i keep getting a no!! All my class is failing, we were looking at the mocks results, we saw all the other classes results and they were getting A*-B and then when we scrolled down at ours it said that we had 15 E's, 6 D's and 2 C's...

The thing is out of the 8 sets, we are in Set 4 (middle) and the lower sets were getting B's, so im sure if its just our teacher or its that our class are all turning dumber when it comes to Maths.
