BEZ WINS CELEBRITY BIG BROTHER 2005

Over the last six days, the nation has been furiously voting to decide the winner of Celebrity Big Brother 2005. Since Monday, Channel 4 and E4 viewers have been voting for the final winner and tonight, live on Channel 4, BEZ was announced as the winner with 54% of the votes.

The first person to leave the house this evening in third place was BRIGITTE with 28% of the votes, at the time of tonight's first reading. She left the house to join Davina, leaving Bez and Kenzie in the house while phone lines remained open for viewers to vote for the winner.

At 9.30pm, Davina spoke again to the Big Brother house and announced BEZ as this year's Celebrity Big Brother winner. Runner up KENZIE received 46 % of the votes cast. On hearing the news, a shocked BEZ said, "I can't believe it!" before hugging Kenzie and finally leaving the house to be greeted by Davina and his eight ex-housemates.

BEZ wins the whole £50,000 prize fund, having already won himself £10,000 of it on Friday evening in the Sticky Lucre task.

A total of £262,002 has been raised for charity - from a total of 1,048,007 votes over the 18-day series.

Viewers were able to vote via telephone, text message and interactive TV. All eviction votes cost 50p per vote from which a total of 25p will go to charity. A percentage of each vote (16p) will be donated to a group of charities chosen by the celebrities. Following the Asian Tsunami, Channel 4 and Endemol UK have decided that the remaining profits from the public vote (9p per vote) should go to the appeal to help victims of the disaster.

Each celebrity housemate has nominated a charity to support and the total money raised via voting revenue will be split equally. This means each housemate will raise an equal amount of money for their chosen charity, regardless of where they finished in the competition. Some celebrities have also chosen the Tsunami appeal as their charity.

Really glad Bez won it, really thought it was going to be Kenzie. Just goes to show there's more Happy Monday fans than blazin squad ones, oh and I suppose with them not being all schoolies they don't have to ask for the bill payers permission to use the phone.

That's true Steve.

I'm in shock. I really thought that Kenzie would win it. I'm pleased it was Bez though, he really needs the dosh.
