So, just testing some ideas. Wondering what you think would work and what wouldn't, lets ignore the idea of bandwidth at the moment, this is going with the idea that there is a sudden burst of investment of time and stuff into the board...

1 - Forum Arcade

The idea of this is simple, a link at the top of the forum that goes to a different page completely, where you can play a series of very simple games. Pong, Snake etc. The points go to a leader board of 'The best of [today/month/ever]' The main negative of this is bandwidth, but it allows more room for adverts and you could even look at working with a gaming website. I don't know how it works, but it's all just an e-mail away.

2 - Slightly more advanced Karma system

We all know how annoying it is when you earn 50 karma points and then they all disappear within a week, there are two approaches to this, one every time a karma goes down or up you see who did it in your profile. So if you notice it going down a lot you can see if its the same person and then report it. The other idea is that for every minus there must be a written reason beside it... if there isn't one it doesnt go down... if it does go down you can appeal to get it back, and you have proof for bad reasoning.

3 - Neater front page

The idea is to tidy up the main forum page a bit to make it easier to navigate. The idea is simple, a forum called "Past BBs" and then all the BB1, BB2, BB3 etc forums to then be put in their respective subforums of "Past BB", it means 9 suforums clogging up the forum page will be tidied down to just one, and they'll just be one click away from what they are now.

4 - Forum Shop

This idea is too create a forum shop, if you win a game you get a bonus of 'Forum pounds' or 'Tibbounds', you get the points the more you post and the more you help out, the more karma points and all that jazz. In the shop you can pay to change your name... you can pay for a 'Golden Membership' which gives you a nice tag and gives you the opportunity to get a bigger avatar. Chances to buy new icons to go by your name, to get flashing names, shining names, coloured names. And all that jazz. A long with anything else you can think of! Maybe pay for a new bunch of smilies! Just for your username!

5 - Side bar

I personally don't use the gallery, I don't know if anyone else does, I would quite like to see the 25 newest posts turn into 40 newest posts to encourage more posting on different threads and keep topics running longer, because soon as a topic goes off there people stop posting in there for a while...

6 - Member profiles

Lets introduce a more advanced profile system, the chance to have pictures on our profile and maybe videos? I haven't looked into this personally but other members seem really into this idea and if thats what the members want then really... as a good forum owner you should give them it
Maybe add more profile options to golden members that can be got in the shop with 'Tibbounds' if Tibb wants to make a bit more money maybe create a text in system where you can buy Tibbounds by texting in, so people can buy the membership. If it would work I do not know... just an idea...

What do you think? I might update this thread with more ideas...

In reference to point #2, could admins look at http://www.**********************/ system of "reputation". It's more advanced.

Also, thank you for putting #3 in there.

The only one I slightly disagree with is #4, but that's just cos I can see some members earning a slight monopoly over TiBB.

I should add the idea of the arcade is to fill up the gaps in between forum games... to stop having so many of them, plus Sam's new quiz thing seems to be popular! Members like competing!
