Default Teachers Demand a 10% Pay Rise

Give us a 10% rise, demand teachers
(who already want a 4-day week
and seem blissfully ignorant of recession)

They will not get much Public Support on this
Demand.
No one else would Demand such a High Rate
in the New Labour Depression.

"in the New Labour Depression"
it's not a depression and nor is it "new Labour's" depression.... have you noticed how it's world wide?
re teacher's pay.... you get what you pay for. Under pay teachers if your not bothered about children's education.

Arista, your really beginning to annoy me, and I'm sure I can't be alone. How is it "New Labour's" Depression. I am not a follower of Labour, but the economic crisis is world wide, not limitted to Britain and it's "New Labour." Whether teachers deserve a pay rise is certainly up for debate, I believe they are a vital part of the community and obviously educational system, so I don't see why a pay rise is out of the question.

New labour depression - what planet are you on it is an international recession

No one gets a pay rise - well me and my colleagues just have

Teachers shouldnt get a pay rise - well I disagree they work really hard to shape the future politicians, bankers, lawyers, charitable workers, humanitarians and lets not forget cleaners, nurses, teachers etc..

I want my children to recieve the best possible education from the best trained, best educated well paid teachers this country can provide.

Teachers deserve to get a pay rise. With all the little ***** they have to put up with extra hours that get unoticed, my mums only an assistant teacher and she often comes home and has to make stuf or perpare things for the next day.

Just 10% is stupid and wont happen.

Agreed but what teachers need the most is effective control of children in the class room then they may not feel as strained as to need 10%.......

Pay rises alone will not benifit childrens education. Enforced diciplne will. Otherwise we will continue to have an ever increasing number of children getting "A" levels in yob behavour.....

arista, hun, this economic collapse is worldwide. The last time I checked, Labour was not in control of the entire Western world. Next.

A British Government may in theory control the UK but with a global economy the reality is that world events over turn the ability to control in full....

Not defending a bad Government but Tory propaganda is just that "Propaganda" They would be in just as big a fix had they been in power. After all they could not keep the economy of this country healthy even when there wern't a world problem.....

The Tories bang on about fixing the roof while the sun shined.....Afraid during the 18 years of Tory sabotage, inhumanity and incompetence they didn't even bother to get a roof to fix.......

I can understand why people hate this Government I do for that matter but to delude oneself that the Tories are a workable option is perhaps the most scary part of some British voters logic.......

i used to work as both a preschool assistant and as a nursery nurse which is the starting point of education i completely agree with them wanting a pay rise cos for all they do the money is rubbish i used to work on average a 50 hour week although there were many weeks it was 60 ish and that was on site not including all the extra stuff i did at home and the money i was put it this way i earnt more doing a 30 hour week in a shop than i did as a nursery nurse

I think they do deserve one, kids are way worse these days, speaking back and all that, and the amount of work they do like.
