Default Scream 4?

Right all I know is that its been confirmed but I can't find anything else on it. Is there any other confirmed news/rumors? Nothing on wiki about it either.

I have nothing either. Someone posted on here though that Courtney Cox Arquette and David Arquette are in it. (Gail and Dooey)

The IMDb page has nothign either only that Courtney and David are rumored to be taking part and that it follows 'a group of people find themselves being stalked and murdered by Ghostface himself.' Oh and that its set 10 years after Scream 3. But surely if it follows a new group of people Dewey and Gail can't be involved.

Maybe it shows them at the beginning, or end? I dunno. Scream 4 has to be linked to 1, 2 and 3 otherwise I'll be disappointed.

It can't just go and kill random people.

Ooh heres an interesting article

Quote:

Wes Craven has hinted that he may direct Scream 4 if the script and money are right.

The horror heavyweight, who helmed the first three instalments in the slasher franchise, told website Bloody Disgusting that he has not completely ruled out returning for the fourth outing.

"It would take it being as a good a script as the first one was," he said, adding: "[And the] pay day reflects what I've done for [the Weinstein] company and what I've gone through on Cursed!"

Craven confirmed that Scream scribe Kevin Williamson has "made a deal to write" the follow-up but admitted that he has no idea what the storyline will entail.

Last year, a press release for Scream 4 suggested that the film will "re-start the franchise", leading to speculation that the main cast will be replaced by younger, fresher faces.

However, original stars Neve Campbell, Courteney Cox-Arquette and David Arquette have reportedly been approached to make cameo appearances in the long-in-development movie.
I think its fair to say that none of the main characters will be 'main' characters anymore, judging from that.

I remember back in 97 seeing all these bus shelter ads of Scream... Many said it was the return of the teen slasher flicks like in the late 70s and early 80, great films.

Oh and the best of them all, Nightmare On Elm Street is being remade, love that film and the haunting music... Chilling!

One two freddie's comming for you, three four better lock your door....

About time we had another Scream, sure Scream 3 was 9 years ago, maybe another I Know What You Did Last Summer would be good.. So late 90s for the late naughties.

But the third IKWYDLS was AWFUL. It had none of the original cast and went straight to DVD.

BTW, its the guy who directed the 3 Screams that is directing the Elm Street remake.

Didn't Wes Craven direct both of the classic Scream and Nightmare on Elm Street classics?

I loved Scream 1-3, can't wait for the 4th.

So, what would be the 'rules' for a fourth film or would they use the 'rules' for a remake. lol

All i know is that they better not use some cheesy teen 'star' like zac efron or miley cyrus or it will be crap.

Personally I'd love to see Zac Efron or Miley Cyrus get brutally killed on a big screen...

Hmm, they really should just leave the series alone IMO.

It's a sequel too much, the first three films were great (Scream 3 less so but still good). They had a story which they concluded with the 3rd one like what somebody else said it'd ruin the original trilogy if it's just Ghostface killing of random teens.

I'm not looking foward to it, it'll be a huge flop (If it goes ahead) and it'll be simply awful. Mark my words.

Wes craven helmed the first and last Nightmare films but it's some rookie director doing the remake. I agree with what you said about IKWYDLS though, the original was decent and the sequel less so. Remaking films for the hell of it is really a pointless endeaver and a crime against creativity.

It also says 'rumoured' in brackets beside both of them.
And I got it for 9 pounds on Amazon.

OMG!!! Why don't any of you know about it??? lol, here's what has been rumoured to happen.

[spoil]It's based on a character who was, some way, connected to Sidney from the first three movies. (Could be her son or daughter...no one is 100% sure yet) The killer goes for him/her in the 4th film. Courtney Cox and the David Arquette are going to appear as guests in the movie, they won't be full time characters. Sidney is rumoured to be appearing, but it's strongly believed that she will half way through. It's up in the air right now, because Wes Craven has now taken an interest in the movie...so they don't really know who is producing it yet.[/spoil]
