Default The fans are killing the show!!

Can i just say i am absolutley sick of reading all the negative posts on here.

You all seem to be assuming that BB is coming to the end and writing it off as a waste of time.

Its so disheartening to see its fans saying 'Oh its gona so bad' etc etc, when in fact BB was such a phenomenon for so long that its now actually just settled into its timeslot, 4-5 million is a good average for channel4 if not a brilliant average.

You all too wrapped up in the glory years and now any BB doesnt stand a chance because you comparing it to Past BB's

Fact is weve seen BB reach its best, It wont ever get be fresh or original, hyou just gotta be happy with consistancy and a new cast.

The producers arent killing the show, The fans and the tabloids are.

Moreso the fans who seem to have completely given up hope.

So you think we should all be impressed that channel 4 cant be arsed with the show anymore? Big Brother used to be a television event, now its just a reality show

Killing the live feed to me is proof that channel 4 CBA with the show.. they are even stripping back to one show a week!

As far as im concerned they is not much to be excited about.

Now thats the thing Chewy they can be arsed, its CH4 flagship show, why the hell wouldnt they be. Your just thinking they cant because your no longer impressed with the output. When in fact it would be impossible for anyone to live up to the expectations you set, You cant keep getting better with a tv show, you expecting far to much, BB9 was an awesome series

its not that they cnt be arsed, its that its VERY expensive to keep running live feed, the current climate is to blame

look at other shows, like, lets say, X Factor, which is still a massive TV event, and is the talking point of everyone

How is that still sucessful?

Because it reinvented itself, dumped Sharon, got Danni and Cheryl Cole, got Dermot (who was a much loved BB icon)

Then look at BB

Dermot's gone, Russell's gone and they put up half assed attempts to replace them

x factor is 6 years old, big brother is 10 years old.

The formats are completely different, X factor is a talent show, Big Brother is a popularity contest.

Theres only so much you can see 24/7 for 13 weeks

X factor is on once a week.

Its a completely different kettle of fish

The fans ARE BB.

You say the viewing figures are alright - that is because of fans!
If they don't enjoy BB, they don't enjoy BB. They're not going to continue watching just to "help the show out" a bit.

theyre not enjoying it because they are comparing it to past years or other shows. Expectations are FAR to high for the show, why cant they just enjoy it for what it is. BB9 was fantastic. Some great social dynamics etc

Because it's simple. If someone doesn't enjoy watching it (for WHATEVER reasons), then they simply don't enjoy watching it. People aren't petty enough to consciously make the decision not to enjoy it. It's just a subconscious thing - we either enjoy something or don't enjoy something.

What do "fans" want from the show? Do they want blood? WTF do they want?

I dont think thats right, whats killing the show is C4 treating it like **** under their shoes!
But i do agree about the part about not comparing the ratings to past series, whats the average slot for 9pm/10pm on C4 for 2009?? whatever that is, if it goes above the slot average then its doing good, right? thats how we should judge it. Im sure the 9pm average is something like 2.8m.
