Default Is it possible to launch with 7m anymore?

Just wondering, Imo i dont think it is for many reasons:

1. The Live Feed issue has already caused a lot of negativity before its even started.

2. They would need to advertise alot (like starting soon) and make unique and interesting adverts.

3. If the June 3rd rumour is true then that will already knock down the launch viewers by about 2m because of The Apprentice, which now gets 8-9 million.

4. C4 is treating the show like ****.

Im not sure if the series can pick itself up. I however was proven wrong because BB8 ended with about 5.2m didnt it? I expected BB9 to launch with a lower figure but it launched with 5.8 million, higher than the final of BB8.

And then I was worried about CBB6 launch because of the last episode of BB9 didnt get a good rating (under 5m) however CBB6 launch got 6 million which was more than BB9 launch which was a bit odd. But the final of CBB6 got a poor 3.3m overnight which is awful, I somehow dont think the BB10 launch will start with over 5m anymore. My prediction for the launch would be 4.5m.

It seems that all shows are down on ratings apart from BGT, XF, SCD and the occasional cooking show.

Sorry about my long essay
what do you think?

There's no way it'll ever see 7million viewers again. In fact, I don't think the BB10 launch will even reach 5million viewers.

It could (could as in very unlikely) happen if they really put hype into it (which isnt happening right now). CBB6 was unexpected for me because it launched more than BB9 with 6m and that wasnt hyped up much, just with the occasional "Ulrika is going in" stuff. But the drop in 3 weeks was painful from 6m to 3.3m for the final, I cringe even thinking about it, and the 1.9m for one of the shows, that was such an awful rating that it was funny!

Thinking about BB9 it didnt do badly at all, if you compare the 1st week and the last week there was no drop, infact there was a 0.1m rise, as opposed to BB8 which had a drop. Also BB9s last week got better ratings than BB8's last week. BB8 was getting in the high 2 millions in the final days, and BB9 reached 4 million for Mo and Kats eviction, so tbh if it wasnt for the middle weeks of BB9, it would have rated better than BB8.

BB is way past it's prime. The only way they can win back the viewers is if they give us a good series like the earlier ones. But they keep on choosing 1 dimensional characters, giving us crap tasks, and crap twists. They can win back the viewers (some of them anyway), but they'll have to give us an amazing series that'll make people want to watch again.

True, Im just wondering where the hell the other 7m people are that watched the BB3 final, it would be good to bring back at least a small % of them. They've probably grown up since then. So weird that we have lost 7 million viewers. So weird that BB3 Final was watched by 10.1m.

No, especially this one because it's going to clash against The Champions League final

Even if it is a good series, that still wont make people tune in because they wouldn't be watching anyway. Big Brother 9 was much better than Big Brother 8, yet did a bit worse. Ironically, the only time Big Brother actually gets a big audience these days is when something controversial and wide-spread happens. Its just past its prime, as someone earlier posted. The format is tired and I doubt it really interests people anymore because theres bigger and better reality shows out there (X Factor, Britains Got Talent) to entertain Britain.

It's still one of Channel 4's best rated shows though, so we're doing something right.

I think it could get that figure if C4 and the producers wanted the show to change and advertise it. But with C4 looking like they have given up I can't see that figure being reached again.
Already it looks as thought that it wont be getting a good figure this years launch. Its so hard to predict what the launch will get and it will all come down to if there is any change and if that change will be advertised, something which I very much doubt will happen

It would be a miracle if it got 7 million.

But it won't happen because it will be up against Apprentice and Champions League Final.

27th of May.

The broadsheets have reported today that will be the launch date.

I believe them over the Daily Star!

Forget it - that's in the middle of the Britain's Got Talent finals and we all know they won't launch until BGT is over.

The papers have lied because there is no way C4 will launch Big Brother before June.
They would be mad to launch the show in the middle of ITV's biggest week of the year with all the attention on BGT rather than Big Brother

Channel 4 hate the show and want it to end because of the trashy image the show gives the channel. That's what the people at the top of the channel have been saying in the media today.

Maybe they'll deliberately put it on that day to sabotage it?

I know, it would be bad.

It's probably a mistake from the different newspapers. But who know- maybe C4 want to get rid of the show so are doing it on purpose?

Lol- ok maybe not.

My God, the launch dates are just so horrible, I know there rumours but those 2 dates are awful:

27th May- BGT and Champions League
3rd June- The Apprentice.

The 4th or 5th June would be fine.

They might want it to end - but they'll want to get as much money out of it as possible before they axe it.

Therefore I find it highly unlikely that they'll schedule it against one of ITV's big shows. They were smart enough to avoid BGT last year so I presume they'll be doing the same again this year.

It IS possible to win back the viewers. Yeah, some may have given up for good, but if it's worth watching people will tune in.

Just look at the US reality series "The Bachelor". It was a dying show, getting worse ratings every year (just like BB), then the show had a one of it's best seasons and the viewers came back. It was averaging as little as 8 million viewers (which isn't considered a lot in the US) for several years, then BAM, it suddenly went back up to 15 million out of nowhere. People who watch it say it's because they cast a likable bachelor.

The same COULD happen to BB if they put effort into making a great series.
