Default Should BB producers invest in a quirky advertising campaign ?

I think that insted of releasing the eye on the website they should descretely slip in the logo onto food packaging (crisp packets chocolate bars), then after people have realised - plaster the eye over billboards and busses and on other channels to get people wondering and become interested. I think at first they should use a black, blank eye template with a large '10' in the middle; simply to build up publicity to the launch night where the eye will be revealed in the titles, after a special 10 year showcase tribute; voiced-over by Davina.

Thoughts ?

Oh yes, they need to have a better advertising campaign.

The eye flashes and house adverts are so boring nowadays. They're absolutely useless.

There is a need for a brilliant new advertising campaign this year because the ratings really do depend on it
but if there isn't any real change to the show there is no point in have a new advertising campaign

Yep, they do need to change the way they advertise the show. Channel 4 is one of the best channels for adverts, all their shows have mysterious quirky ads that get people talking, but they seem to have given up on BB, using similar ads over and over again. If they want to get new people interested in the show then a change is due.

That sounds like a great idea. If we are given just a few clues about the series, the anticipation will build up and that is exactly what the producers want to do.

If billboards and buses are used, that would be great. It has never been done before and it would get a lot of people talking.

I don't know how well this would work but maybe a few radio advertisements. If Marcus Bentley did the voice over and gave us the launch date, channel and a few small details about the series then that would be cool.
