Default Are we judged as TIBB members based on our Post Count?

What are your thoughts on the post count?

Does it judge us as TIBB Members?

What do you think?

I think we are judged based upon our Post Count - and that contributes to the 'Status' that people think they have, here on TIBB. We are all equal, other than the MODs etc. etc.

Until you reach 500 I think there's always a degree of snobbery.

I judge them on how they put their point across and how they seem through what they say. For example, I kind of automatically dont want to read anything where there is no grammar or correct spelling.

I also judge on whether they can have a laugh as well. Obviously you do notice post counts but I dont think they are important, I only really care about my own cos I want my 10K by the end of this year

We shouldn't be, but probably subconsciously people do.

Like if someone who has 3 posts says "i think that 2" for example, everyone is quick to jump on the text speech rule etc. Yet if someone with 15,000+ posts said something with text speech in, even as a joke like "bbz" - no-one cares. Double standards.

Unfortunately yes, some members seem to.

I don't really understand why though, just because they have more posts doesn't mean that they are more 'important' (bad choice of wording- just can't think of another way to type it).

ive never judged anyone by post count but i think the karma system needs to go, alot of people with -tive karma are often nice people who i never have a problem with. and then there are some people who have got rediculously high karma because they act silly.

Abolish post count and karma!

I try not to judge by post count but by quality of the post and the personality of the poster
but I think post count plays a huge part on here and controls the leniency towards members as Lauren pointed out
I also think its quite obvious that until someone reaches a certain status, usually 500 posts, they aren't really accepted as a member by some on here.

Well - u start it, and i'll join. Im not getting involved with all that - Nothing will come out of it, im sure. But i suppose you can allways try.

I do agree that both the Karma and Post Count do distinguish between worthy people - but doesnt distinguish between good comments - which most comments are. But, ya know - i cant explain what i mean. If anyone understands please share your veiw! haha

I think the best members are the ones who's karma are between 0-10 because that shows that they dont suck up peoples ass and that they have had it minused due to standing their ground in a debate.
I hate it when members who are not nice people have high karma because in real life, their karma would be so low.

I don't tend to judge people with low post counts but I'll jump on any annoying new members that type like they're on the phone. The difference between these members and the ones highlighted in AMA's posts are that the members that say LMAO, BBZ ETC often say it as a joke or in collaboration with ACTUAL sentences. It's different to members that 'tlk lik dis' constantly and probably doesn't know a thing about grammar, i'm not great with grammar but please!

I think Text talk like 'Lol', 'lmao' and stuff like that is acceptable as they are expressive and plus they are used alongside actual sentences but chavspeak is a massive no no.

New members with a grasp of basic english are fine with me.

Grr! I just wrote a big reply, pressed post and there was a page error! ANNOYING.

--

Yes we are, whether we do it on purpose varies member to member, but yes we all do it.
If a pointless post was posted by a newbie, everyone would jump on them and have a go, but if someone with a high post count did it, people would take it as a joke and be like ye bbz i agree and take the micky!

But it works the other way, if a newbie write a Hello I'm new thread... they will look at the post count of the person in most cases (:

So it works both ways >.<
