Default Do you care how Big Brother does in the ratings or not?

Do you care how Big Brother does in the ratings or not? If so, why?

Is it something you consciously look up, or have no interest in at all.

What series rating do you think BB10 needs to get for Channel4 to renew contract.

Of course I care what ratings Big Brother gets because it's an indication of how popular it is.

But shouldn't you most care about the actual show?

The quality of the show is not in direct correlation to the ratings.

There could be a brilliant series and still get terrible ratings, especially after Shilpa Gate.

I do care about the show itself and I know that ratings dont correlate with the quality - BB9 was an example.

But while any series could be the best series ever, if it keeps dropping in ratings Channel 4 are more likely to axe it.

But it still gets good rating for Channel 4. More than what ITV1 have been getting for Color of Money.

Not really. It would be nice if it did amazing. But I don't care as long as it's good.

Ratings may not directly affect your viewing but if the figures are so low C4 are likely to scrap it.

I care and don't at the same time.
If it entertains me, it's great.
If it brings in poor ratings, it's sorta :S at the same time.
It's bittersweet, but more sweet than bitter.

I understand that - but, i just dont see why they are important? They are highly not realistic. Just give companies basic figures. They only take a selection of about 5,000 homes. Which really isnt much.

The only reason ratings are used is to see if the public enjoy the series and if it's popular.

I dont care about ratings to any show. If its good, then I will watch it and thats all that really matters to me.

i think i end up caring if the ratings are low cos then i think big brothers just not gunna bother with wild tasks or crazzzzy twists, but apart from that i think yeah we all know its never going to be a mega ratings winner like back in the day.

Yeah I dont get why ratings matter. When people post ratings on TiBB - I just wonder why. Surely they know that people watch it?

I try not to care about ratings but I do a lot
but I probably wont care about them as much this year as the show may be axed after next year so its best just to enjoy the show
If ratings can stay above the 3million average maybe more close to 3.5million then i think C4 may renew it

i want the show to do well so i do care about ratings, i dont look them up or anything but i talk to people about bb all the time when its on so people watch, the more people watch the better, the less people watch the less chance they will carry on making big brother

I'd be lying if I said I didn't care. It's just knowing that there are loads of other people watching at the same time makes it more enjoyable. Don't ask why.. lol.
Plus, if the ratings are low, it's more likely to be axed.
