Default World Cup.

I'm not sure how many of you are into this, or even interested in football, but I am, so I thought i'd start a topic for it where I can incessantly ramble when I get the urge about the state of the teams or how well England are doing (hopefully!)

Anyway, was watching part of the France/Senegal game (I was at college doing revision for the first half) and I was wondering if anyone else watched/was shocked at the fact Senegal won???

I must say, they looked pretty impressive playing - certainly a surprise to me (I just assumed they'd be crap).

What do we reckon the England score will be on Sunday?? I'm reckoning 2-1 to us, but i was never great at predicting scores. And I hope Dyer plays - everyone went on about Beckham, but Dyer is a pretty damn good player too (though I accept not the same level of interest as Beckham!)

Also, giving this a BB3 link - Lee said he was a massive footie fan, didn't he? I wonder how he'll cope without the world cup (if he stays!)??

Hey Glitter_babe!

I am really excited about the World Cup!
I was watching the match earlier, the opening of it was fab, they worked hard on it to look good!
I was very shocked to see Senegal win, afterall France won the last World Cup and Euro! I say 'Well done Senegal' They deserved to win!

Now onto England, a lot of people think that we are not gonna do so well but I say have faith in our Country.
One of the most important things our team have got is team spirit and sometimes that is even more important that performance, they are really hyped up for it and so is the country!!
I think we could do well, Im not giving up hope yet!!

GO ENGLAND!!!!!!!
Good Luck on sunday!

Default Hey Wildchild!

I'm glad there are fellow enthusiasts here! I missed the opening, but apparently it was pretty fantastic!

I won't give up hope we'll win it till the dying seconds, but I think Italy may well be strong contenders this year....

I'll back you with the smilies!

I'm not into that into football and must admit that I am not particularly bothered about the World Cup. I will probably watch some of the England games and I hope they do well.

I actually tried to convince the teachers at school to let me watch the France/Senegal game IN MY OWN TIME but no they haven't got enough time, so I couldn't watch it:ba wling: but then again my mum gave me the review when I got home so I have recovered, sort of.

Yep, I'll be watching the World Cup.

A well deserved win for Senegal to beat the world champions.

I was at home today and I saw it. France just didn't get going.

As for supporting England?
I'll get back to you on that one.

I guess some people where I live will be cheering on Sweden, Argentina and Nigeria

Actually I'm neutral. I don't mind England doing OK.

I'd quite like to see France recover from their bad start.

I take it that means you come from Scotland??
If so then i'm glad you don't mind England doing ok! My Dad's scottish mates are terrible (but funny!) and they'd rather have Germany win - which i find harsh!!

That is very true. Most English people cheer on Scotland.

We've just got an inferiority complex about football. The only Scottish person that's ever been in the second round of the World Cup is the referee!

On the subject of Germany, on BBLB tonight Dom Joly said that Alex should be evicted because he's part German and the World Cup's started.
Bit out of order that with his parents in the studio.

COME ON ENGLAND

I find the result highly amusing
If they cant beat this little known African team how are they going to face up to the likes of Italy,Argentina and ENGLAND?

We(at school) were gonna watch the match on telly but the telly broke down

They made up for it a bit by letting us play footy for the whole afternoon

I thought that as well James. He made it even worse a few minutes later when he just said 'German' in a very derogatory fashion when they'd been talking to them.

This and the booing of Lynne tonight at the eviction has left a very nasty taste in my mouth about Big Brother.

I never thought I'd say this, but I'm not actually enjoying this years BB very much at all. None of the housemates this year have appealed in the way that all of them last year did. I hate the newer strict rules, I think they are going too far you cause conflict and get ratings. To me it doesn't appeal, infact if it wasn't for TiBB I would probably not be watching BB3 very much at all.

What a bloody shambles!

Danny "Doh!" Mills (who otherwise had a pretty much average game), David "I'm not going to stay on my goal line" Seaman (I have the uptmost respect for him, but he was too far out when they scored), Michael "I refuse to run and create space so that Beckham, Dyer, Heskey and co can feed me chances" Owen....

Heskey shouldn't have been on the left, I don't think he gets on well there at all, and when Joe Cole came on i was sure it was to replce Heskey, but no! Sven replaced Vassel, who played a blinder?????

Please! I thought Vassel had a great game - why move him? Hargreaves wasn't too bad either, but he got noticably tired.

All in all we really really need to up our game for Argentina, otherwise we don't stand a chance!

We were bad enough in the first half, never mind the second - we may as well have passed them the ball! Come on lad's , get it sorted!!!

I may seem slightly over the top, but I am very disappointed - we are capable of much, much better, and the whole team knows it!

We can only hope to beat them, I think it'll be a good game and alot of people are predicting that the game will end as a draw, it might well happen.

Meanwhile at 7:30am this moring Nigeria and Sweden started there 2nd game in the world cup and so far 35 mins into the game Nigera have scored one goodgoal with a spectacular celebration and Henrik Larrson has just scored for Sweden *cough* unfortunately *cough*

I have faith that if our lads play their hearts out (which I know they will) then we can beat Argentina.

Slightly disappointed to hear Vassel is unlikely to be played - I though the had a good game against Sweden.

Come on England!!

I have faith anyway. God, i'm so nervous that I can barely eat - this is so weird!! I think they should show the BB house the game - they are obviously all (well most) eager to see it.

Enjoyed all the puns in the tabloid headlines this morning tho'!!!!
