Gobby Max was a guinea pig for the last Big Brother and The Farm — both programmes produced by Endemol.

During a week in the Big Brother house Max made a name for himself — regularly stripping off and bragging about his women conquests.

Last night there were suspicions that Max may have been planted in the house by Endemol bosses in a bid to guarantee winning ratings.

A Channel 4 insider said Max was the king of the house when he did the dry run.

The source added: “He went into overdrive to impress bosses even though it wasn’t on TV.

“Bosses loved him and knew he would be a hit if he was to go on TV for real.”
