American Werewolf in London, It terrified me as a kid. Those dream sequences....I was terrified of people knocking the door at night for days. It's the only film I've never watched again since I watched it as a kid. Every other scary film I watched as a kid doesn't bother me now.

It came to light that the story was a hoax. Maybe that'll help you sleep better at night.

I wish i never came to this thread. I was looking forward to freaking myself out when i watched Amitville.

I genuinely haven't ever been scared by a movie. Scream 2 made me jump though.

"Vacancy" in the cinema. It's not even ghosty, it's about murderers who hunt these people down in a hotel to murder them in a snuff movie. It was so scary... I saw it with my cousin in the cinema and we both ended up crying from fright pmsl.

The Exorcist is very tame by todays standards, but the religious connection is the reason it was so frightening at the time!
Showing my age oh well! lol

I saw the Exorcist when it first was shown in this country, and the cinema was full of hysterical people, but my mate, who is a total atheist laughed all the way through it!
I think it was very hyped up at the time, but still quite good, considering the age of it
By the way it's available here on youtube!

None. One that is suppose to be horrible is 'Cannibal Holocaust'. They kill real live animals in it.
