OK, it seems that a lot of people agree with my previous post. So the next issue is: What can Kris do about it? How can he save himself from a middle-aged nightmare. There are three options:
a. This is, I would suspect, the option that he will choose. He will continue to ignore any decent advice and carry on in his own sweet way believing that he has the face to launch a thousand ships. If that's the case, then I would seriously suggest that he sleeps with as many women as possible in order that he might survive with the help of his memories. b. It may be possible that he meets someone and falls blindly in love with them. This would probably save him from himself, as falling in love with somebody usually involves an element of idolisation of your partner, enforcing upon him some humility. If that were the case, he could settle down and transfer the interest that he used to have in himself on to his wife and children, and be a good (and happy) husband and father. However, if you witnessed his behaviour a couple of days ago, he told Charlie that he was going to have to stop his relationship with Sophie because when he gets out, he's going to be shagging loads of women (or words to that effect). Which takes him straight back to option 1. 3. The last option is probably the most unlikely which is unfortunate because it would help him enormously. If one day in the next couple of years, the penny might drop (or if he reads my threads....lol) and he might stop and think for a minute. My advice would be to build his character and adopt a new role in life, involving more humility, less arrogance and a great deal of change. He could start by going to the gym and looking after his future self, prolong his life, slow down the ageing process (naturally) and acquiring some muscle memory. Secondly, he could make himself more interesting by creating certain events that are captivating to talk about and display him in a better light. For example, if he were to sign up as a missionary and travel to the developing world, helping charities and people less fortunate than himself, he would naturally receive an education about genuine suffering and become extremely humble, really caring about world events and what he as an individual can do about it. Finally, it wouldn't be a bad idea to become involved in the creative arts to some extent. Rather going out and getting pissed and laid with his mates all the time, he could join the local amateur dramatics society, learn to play a musical instrument or even doing a couple of A'levels and going on to university. Anything that would involve receiving tutorship from somebody that he would be forced to respect. With those extra qualities added to his character, his mannerisms and looks would grow with him and he would be a lot more interesting and attractive to socialise with when he hits his thirties. So which option do you think he'll go for? I know which one I'd go for, if I hadn't been there already. Cheers, Simon |

To be honest, I don't care what he does when he leaves the house. He will probably continue as he is now and live a hedonistic care-free lifestyle. When he contracts an STD, maybe then he will reconsider.
