Default I quit smoking, so can the housemates.

I use to be the biggest junkie of all time, smoked ciggies and cannabis like it was going out of fashion. Cos of the budget housemates need to worry about food more than poisoning their bodies. If Lisa and co wanna win some admirers they should quit smoking, if I can do so can they.

Well done for stopping, seriously must have been hard.

I was pretty similar with the ciggies and weed, took me several attempts to quit.....reading Alan carr's 'how to quit smoking' worked wonders....

It's a pretty hard environment to quit....not to mention studies have shown tobacco is as addictive as heroin, plus there's breaking the habbit when there's very little else to do to occupy them....

The underlying factor like you say comes down to food....if you're on a limited budget to say they'll spend their allowance on smokes and still want to get food is not really fair on the none smokers.

Congrats on quiting!!

Poker is not gambling, it is a game of skill. I also organise more than I play, I cater for the average joe who does not want to spend a kings randsom at casinos but just a fiver or a tenner. I am offering a service, plus why would I want to give up playing poker, I am so good at it. Biggest win August 25th 2005, I won Ł4000.23, and prior to that occassion I was Ł1500 in debt (from credit cards not poker). So poker got me out of debt, fancy that huh? :h ello:

alan carr?? really??

yeah i agree with what you're saying. the point is, they are buying a luxury item (fags) when the the rest of the house aren't. if they want to spend their money on fags, then they shouldn't have as much food as the rest. it's just not fair and i don't know why lisa doesn't understand that!!

Not as in the camp comdian Alan Carr It actually encourages you to smoke as you read the book and think about the process of what you're doing etc etc a few ex smokers recommended it to me....went to the beach smoked my last ciggie, had a surf and still going strong

Yeah i think we're on the same line of thought with the smokes and food, you've got to do things fairly when it's a group budget, otherwise and quite understandably the non smokers are gonna get the *****!!

You've convinced me I'll have another.

I have quit smoking cigs fairly reacently nand haven't bought a pack in months. On the other hand if i was in there i would be so bored that smoking would seem like the only thing to do to pass time.
