Default Freddie will not win.

It happens every year. 5 or 6 weeks in, somebody is always destined to win with 100% certainty, only for their popularity to wane slightly as the weeks pass on further. Remember Makosi in BB6 when she was being insulted by Saskia? Then she became even more popular for her part as the spy who provided clothes for Eugene, Kinga and Orlaigh. Then towards the end, she gradually lost popularity right up until her exit where she was thoroughly hated.
Or do you remember just last year? Kathereya seemed unbeatable because of cute quirkiness and consistent smile and then towards the end, everybody thought she had a gameplan (she DID have a gameplan, Luke was right) and deserted her. Well, now that Freddy is no longer getting picked on, viewers are not so protective of him, and the new housemates on Friday are going to change the whole dynamic. Mark my words Freddy will not win. In fact, I wouldn't be surprised if it was someone like Rodrigo or Dogface. You may not like them now, but people's views change quite dramatically quicker than you notice it.

There is of course an exception, and that was BB7. Pete was always destined to win (because of his disability), but even then, I was hoping that Glynn might catch him up, and he so very nearly did.

Another thing is, disabilities are an enormous advantage in BB. Mikey could easily have won last year, had he not had such revolting eating habits, or the fact that he dug a grolly out of his nose for Mohammed (turned my ****ing stomach, that did). As it was he came 2nd, which is a bloody high position for someone who made one's stomach turn. Even his jokes were well below the belt.

This is what I've been saying for ages. Don't get me wrong, I like Freddie, but the only reason that he is still in the house is because he became the underdog due to most housemates nominating him each week.

I believe that if Sophia was not so hostile towrds Saffia in the beginning, Frddie would have went. He was not picked on in the beginning. He was nominated cos he was annoying. There was no real Lisa group at that point. Sophie did not nominate him for the first week.

Freddie kept going up against folk who had irked the public that week which resulted in there departure leaving Freddie to become more known, and develop the status of underdog in the public's eyes.

Once Lisa and gang are gone, Freddie will no longer be the underdog, and the reason why people supported him in the first place will quickly disappear and they will see him for what he really is,.. not that it's a bad thing,.. but he will [or won't] be there on his own merits, and not because of public sympathy, which I think is unfair on the other housemates, cos they are overlooked during times like this.

Fredie is alright, but when he's confident he can become a bit of a know-it-all, and stuff like that. Rodrigo was right to say what he said. Freddie and co where acting like 5 year old tonight. For once Lisa was doing good. She is usually quite sensible in these situations, but I still don't want her to win.

Rodrigo to win! I originally singled him out to win when he went into the Diary Room on the first show.

First Impressions can be wrong, but they are usually the right one. That's why Freddie really got all those votes. It's just by accident he became this underdog character which has turned into a farce now.

If Lisa did not appear so manipulative, I would keep her in, cos she is good telly. Credit where credit's due.

Karly to go this week! She's suck a Suck-up to Lisa!

Part of the reason why Freddie has became so popular was because he was the underdog yes, but it certainly wasn't the only reason.

The reason why he is so popular is the way he has acted throughout the 6 weeks. Even when he has had a horrible group of people pretty much ganging up against him trying to get him out of the hosue and treating him like ****, he has never played the victim, has stuck up for himself, and has acted with dignity throughout, which can't be said for alot of the other housemates.

I think the reason so many people are disliking Freddie now is just because he became so popular. The reasons that people give for disliking Freddie are clutching at straws to say the least. The guy really hasn't done much wrong in the house, and has shown that he is a genuinely nice bloke.

I agree with the gooner above

I think there is no other person but Freddie i'd want to win it. Everyone else is a bit of an arse or annoying or just not funny. Look at it this way and be honest about it.

Siavash - Boring
Karly - OK but not interesting
Sophie - Nice looking but that's it really.
Lisa - Meh, a bit too predictable, seems only interested in cigarettes.
Marcus - Weird and now repetitive.
Charlie - Like lisa, a bit too predictable.
Rodrigo - Can be funny when he is being serious but he won't win.
Freddie - Cool guy i think, like's to wind them up and he was doing it for a while. He's playing the game a bit and fair play tbh. Playing it but most likely being himself while doing it which is possible.

Because I did have no favourites I see it that it could all change, we still have a while to go yet, for me if I was pushed it would have to be Freddie and that was only a recent choice because I do think he doesnt listen to the things being said in the house he goes on what he believes, but I still want to see Sophie come out of her shell a bit more and want siavash to be more like he was, plus new housemates it will def all change again, so I still say too early to tell

He's the best choice out of a bad bunch to be honest

Unless we get at least two of the 5 new HM's been great i think Freddie has this won

Agree the problem is he could get to the stage in the house is it's down hill and with it kind of only being half way, people might not support him as much as they have done so far and also depending on how things go, something could happen and it might affect his chances. BB is like a bit of a soap to be honest. Ya never know, which is why im baffled as to how Rachel rice won.

i think a new housemate will win it this year. once there's nobody left to fight with freddie or undermine him, i believe his annoying tendencies will come out more. don't get me wrong- i really like him, but i feel that his personality could get a little jarring over the coming weeks. somebody fresh and vibrant and funny could steal the prize away.

Let us look at the actual housemates.

Rodrigo was the beginning favourite due to the fact he looks like Cristiano Ronaldo and was expected to be the light of the party. This died quickly early on as he didn't actually do anything & therefore has been flying on his looks to actually remain popular with the public. Now he's losing it with everyone and throwing daily strops, his popularity will wane further. Possible finalist, but no-one interesting enough to pick up enough votes to win.

Noirin, Marcus and Lisa have just instilled too much hatred amongst the public and will find it extremely hard to claw enough back to survive an eviction before the final (and those three will all likely be up at some point before it again). Karly is gone on Friday and Sophie just doesn't really have anything going for her.

Therefore only Siavash and Charlie for me have much hope in winning against Freddie. Siavash is from what I understand, calmly popular but most of his fans are also Freddie fans who will support Freddie over him. I don't think Charlie himself has enough support to overturn Freddie either.

The only plausible threat to Freddie is if he puts his foot in it massively (I doubt it, he's level-headed), some other housemate steps it up and overtakes him (unlikely, most have footbuleted too much) or a new housemate wins everyone over (historically unlikely).

If you read my thread, you'll see that I didn't say I disliked Freddy. I do actually like the guy and I would like to see him win. But his winning is nowhere near in the bag. There's more than enough time for him to do something that will turn everyone. It is of course, all up to Big Brother and how they portray him in the editing. THAT is the key.

I'm interested to see what the new housemates have to offer, there's no one individual that's really stood out for me so far and made me think....Yeah you're awesome. The next week will be a big one, good for the viewers to have some new faces, and good for the housemates to have some energy inserted in to the house.

Good post.

I think that Halfwit has been amazing so far in the way that he has handled being an outcast and being nominated 5 times in a row. No other housemate could have withstood that without cracking up (in past years most have broke down after 4 noms). That Halfwit could still remain positive and be a nice guy despite all he was up against shows real strength in his character.

I'll be suprised if he does win because my favorites usually don't, but he is certainly the most deserving one in there.
