LOL, talk about massive rationalisations from the pair of them. Hahahaha.

They both need to broadcast and persuade everyone to accept their story as the truth. Both of them micro-analysing his every move and accusing him of x, y, z when really he just acted normal.

- Because Marcus is jealous, feels inferior and has been trodden on as the dominant male.

- Because Noirin fancies Tom and feels guilty about it, and angry that she looked like a school girl with a big crush on Tom.

So the pair of them had to overcompensate massively and rationalize to themselves and everyone that he's a big gameplayer, lol.

They need their convincing story, in order to feel better. Lame!

Noirin does have feelings for Tom.

BUT she realised that it meant that her friendship with Marcus would be over and she'd go back to being a pointless boring HM. So now shes getting back into his good books. No doubt she'll show her affections for Tom again and will be foundout for the 2faced nunce she really is!

not sure if thats the case..i overstand noirin is a big girl but she seems easily led at times,my view is marcus has successfully groomed her in his likeness and now she takes his word for gospel..after that night where he called her out on her chumming it up with siavash,he told her he felt hurt when he gives advice and she didnt take it on board..so she had to agree to listen to him more..

thats all i see happening here..marcus has led a rebellion against a housemate who he feels threatened by..i agree with your assumtions on marcus but noirin is simply following his lead in my humble opinion

I'm doing catch-up on +1 ............Marcus just gave her a wee rub on inner thigh as I'd only ever do to a partner when agreeing on a topic - what is that girl on allowing that?!

Yes it's a physical form of overcompensation.

After not looking at Marcus much all night and laying in bed with Tom, she needed to do that (rubs etc) to rationalize in her mind:

"Look, I am a good girl, it's Tom the gameplayer who was playing us all, but I know better. I will stick with Marcus and be loyal as a friend."

He did the same with his story and trying to maintain his supposed alpha role.

They both need each other on this one.

That's what people do when they just blindly react to feeling threatened or disempowered.

Marcus lost his power as dominant alpha male, who has the girl next to him.

Noirin lost her power as the girl who fancies nobody, yet everyone fancies her.

Hence their blatant b*tching and role-playing to try and get their status back.

indeed,what struck me was how as soon as they set foot in the room,you hear marcus call out to noirin to sit next to him (just as she settled to sit next to sophie) and then proceeded to manipulate his way throughout.. noirin isnt helping the situation but she did point out once again that she does only see him as a friend,he seems to blank it out each time though...

It's simple: Marcus is jealous of her feelings for Tom therefore he wants to kill Tom and Noirin wants to keep Marcus liking her, therefore hanging with him as per normal.
