Default \'Skins\' cast axed....again.

Quote:
After the first two series of Skins, the producers made the shock decision to axe the entire cast while they were still in their prime (RIP Chris, so long Tony, etc.)

Now, with filming on the fourth series getting underway in Bristol, TT has learned that 'The Gang 2.0' have also been given their marching orders. This will clear the way for another new cast of youths should Skins be recommissioned for its fifth series in 2011.

I'm not surprised but I'm still gutted. I love 2.0 so much more than the originals. They better make the 4th series amaazing.

It was obvious this was going to happen but for a show like Skins I think it's a good idea. It injects fresh life into the show and hopefully means that it can continue for many years to come.

Oh well, it was expected that each cast would run for 2 series and then leave.

Makes sense as Skins follows the college life and it is only 2 years. Every 2 years they change it about.

It's not surprising, the Producers made it clear that each cast would only last two series.

It could work better if they focused on first years and second years (so two different groups in one series) and move them up a year, get rid of them when they're in their second year and bring in a new group each year. it would be safer than getting rid every 2 years because if they keep doing that, one series its going to go tits up

I've never really been that big on it though tbh

Its possibly just coz i was younger when the 1st generation happened and then clicked with the 2nd but i just prefer most of the recent characters.

Yeh thats a good point, but then you have the task of following 2 different groups. As 1st years and 2nd years don't usually get along haha.

What a bad decision

I think series 5 should have been made up off some Originals and some off the newer cast

This is a really stupid decision, all skins fan (including myself) weren't happy when the original cast were axed, then everyone got used to the idea and watched the series 3 and warmed to all the new cast, and now we've got to do that same again
Don't think I'll bother watched series 5 then, if the axing goes ahead, unless one or 2 original faces are kept on
