Why did she need to pronounce to the house how severely pressured she was to dobb Half Wit in ?

It struck me as a little self seeking and not the altruistic free loving angel she presents on occasion. Also she definately wanted to strike up bad feelings towards Tom and Kenneth
It smacked of revenge

The thing is she said that because that is how she felt, and indeed they were pressuring her, because we were watching it comes across to us that she playing up for camera, but it could/shoul be looked apon that she said it as it was. Yes she blagged, but her loyalty was with her freddie and she spoke up, took guts as far as I'm concerned.

Seeking glory for your good deeds smacks of self interest
It would of come out without her promotion or in a private conversation with Half Wit. I'm inclined to trust my instinct that santimony was her goal.

Fair comment too, even if I an contradicting my own post I agree she would have been better off not going OTT, but just can't help thinking she said it naturally. I guess we still getting to know her, my thought on Noirin are always changing too, so I give Bea another week before I feel I can properly judge

Pulling out of the task - I know I saw her in the diary room on at least 2 occasions saying she wasnt happy with what they were asking her to do and she wasnt doing it - so are you saying she had to actually go into the diary room and say 'I am pulling out of the task' looks like some people are trying to latch onto the slightest thing to bring the girl down - dont ask me why should be more of her in the house.

I agree with all of that.
Maybe she just is a nice person?
Some people are.

She didn't complain about the task, the only time she kicked off about it was when Kenbo and Tombo cornered her in the kitchen and tried to intimidate her into going along with them.

She said all along that she would much rather just take her chances in the public vote if the alternative was shafting somebody over.

To be fair to her, it would have been easy for her to cave in and go along with Dumb and Dim, but she had the balls to say no.

She's also had the guts to tell Kenbo where he can stick it.

The only reason that she told the others that she wouldn't go along with it was because Dangerous Ken told them first.

She is about the only person who appears to be just as they were in their application video.

I like her, until she does something to make me think otherwise I'll continue to like her.

To me she's done nothing wrong.

Kenny is a wankir there is no doubt in that, but what I have noticed is Bea using his evils to make her look more innocent and holy. The most blatant example of that was when ALL the housemates were in that room with the nominations being annouced. Once the secret mission was mentioned Bea had to make an issue of the pressue she was receiving from Tom & Ken to further enhance her angelic profile.

Every house mate wants to win.

And they all, to some extent, have some kind of game plan.

How sophisticated and effective these game plans are depend on the fact that some people in the house are:

1) more intelligent

2) have greater insight into group dynamics

3) are able to plan further ahead

4) are better at gauging what kind of behaviour other housemates(and more importantly the voting public)find acceptable.

5) have personalities that are generaly likeable rather than odious

Bea on the whole scores well on these points. Moreover the fact that she stood up to bully Kenny the worm and defeated him in a 'square go' will massively boost her ratings both inside and outside the house.

She's clever and brave...she deserves to quite a wee bit further in the house.

Incidentally the other housemates who score highly re the above criteria are: Marcus, Freddie, Siavash

the housemates who score lowest are: Lisa, kenny and david

the rest are somewhere in between.

Of course the best laid plans of mice and men....

anyone looks angelic next to kenneth

she was just explaining the situation. she didn't agree with the task and really didn't agree with tom and kenneth saying she had to trick halfwit into being up

I would have made an issue of it also and do you not think she was also saying it to maybe let the other housemates no that was why their was the tension in the house ie with Ken and Tom towards her. Your always going to get different opinions with such a vast amount of personalities in the house. I dont think she could have handled the situation much better. Maybe also a way of saying to the other housemates look at the treatment I got because I wouldnt conform to what they wanted - good on her

I agree about that.

Except that Marcus has one major chink in his armour - Noirin.

He's obviously put a lot of thought into things but his logic goes out of the window where she is concerned.

Sometimes he makes comments along the lines of knowing that he is making himself look stupid as well.

So he knows it, but he can't help it.

she was absolutely right to expose Kenny and Tom.

She was morally right and as a tactical move it was very shrewd.

She has probably guessed correctly that both kenny and tom are not popular with the public so if they later turn on her and she is up for eviction with one of them she will probably stay.

Also she is smart enough to know that it dont really matter getting on the wrong side of these two losers as they will prob be gone soon.

By exposing these two she is hoping to strengthen her ties with the old HMs who usually outlast newer housemates.

Smart girl. and i think she is fairly genuine with it to boot.

Thats interesting Blue.

But has Noirin really weakened Marcus's position?

Noirin has given Marcus the exposure he needs. The Marcus Noirin gig has been a very strong story line in the house and has meant both of them have had a lot of coverage.

Of course perhaps some of that has been a wee bit damaging for Marcus.

However i think the alternative for Marcus would have meant him taking a back seat in the house and with his otherwise general 'untrendiness' he would probably be in a weaker position.

I't is a tough one to call though, and you could be right, i have the feeling Marcus has thought long and hard over the two positions we are discussing here.

Re him saying and doing foolish things, well i think he is prob a bit like that anyway but may well be exagerating aspects of his personality in a bid to create good telly and to try and generate a bit of a following. the great british public do tend to warm to wallies after all.

His apparent stupidity is defo good telly and i think he is somewhat aware of this.

Marcus, like Bea, is also brave and exhibits (usually) a reasonably decent and balanced fairness.

His assement of other HMs are usually vindicated.

And best of all he is not afraid to challange BB or afraid to go up for the public vote.
