Default TiBB produces: Big Brother [The Prize Fund]

So, now on to the next part of the series.

How much do you think the prize fund should be? Should only the winner get the money, or should it be shared? Should it be a fixed amount, or should it change depending on how the housemates behave?

The Theme
The Duration
The Prize Fund

£100,000

Money taken away when...

they every swear costs £5
all the shopping comes out of the prize fund.
cooking tokens, water is all paid for by the housemates...

Money is earned when...

they win tasks

etc etc..

so the prize fund is what the housemates want it to be...

It shouldn't be a fixed amount because housemates tend to think it's all guaranteed.
No prize fund at the beginning. This one should be earned by completing tasks and could get lower if housemates act badly.

I would like a 100,000 pound prize fund.. but it changes weekly.

Rule breachs (Eg Discussion of Nominations) deducts 5000, failing a task another 5000. That way, you could guarantee at least 20,00 would be gone from the final prize fund, giving Ch4 more money for production.

Oh and NO twists that give other housemates money... dont you realise - ITS OLD.

£500,000 MAX

I also think Tasks should effect the prize money

It should definitely go up. £100,000 is a bit skingy if you think about how much money channel 4 makes from BB.

It should start at £100,000 with money added or taken away from the prize fund because of behaviour, competing tasks, completing twists etc

With all due respect, I don't think Channel 4 could afford to give away £1 million to the winner, especially in these dark times.

Even shows like The X Factor, the winners only pocket £150,000. The remainder of the "£1 million contract" isn't directly given to the winner.

Britain's Got Talent is £100,000 prize (plus Royal variety performance).

And those 2 shows, are much bigger than Big Brother and have bigger budgets.

I think an acceptable prize fund would be someweher in the region of £100,000 - £250,000.

That should give the housemates some motivation. If it doesn't, then give them motivation to get to the final by giving finalists some money.

In the last few years I've said it should be raised to £250,000, but I think in light of the current climate the £100,000 jackpot is much more attractive now.

£100,000 to start off, and they can get special tasks which are optional, if they pass they get added money, if they fail they get some taken off and a punishment, if the choose not to do the task twice in a row they will be punished

I was thinking £250,000 too but because of the cred crunch wouldnt be suprised it being 70,000 instead of 100,000.

In Italian BB last year they had 900,000(about £600,000 at the time) Euros for the winner and this year they had 300,000 Euros(about £250,000 right now) quiete a dramatic drop, so it could change here as well and go down.
