Another problem with linking everything together is that they have to explain in every film why the other superheroes don't turn up it to help battle the villain threatening the world.
The other studios' film have practically been destroyed this year at the box office by Disney, so I can see why Sony don't want to help out with that. |

In other solo films it's usually not a drawn out / global threat like the team up films. Winter Soldier takes place over a matter of hours for example, Thor 2 the only earth based drama is in England, Thor 3 and both Guardians movies aren't on earth, Iron Man 2 and 3 are sort of "personal stuff", Black Panther is all Wakanda-centred... Etc... I can't actually think of any where it would have made sense for another character to be nearby able to help out. They even managed to retroactively add into Endgame that The Ancient One was quietly helping out during the invasion of New York |

in all seriousness, the GotG films stood their own ground without needing tie-ins with the greater MCU (excluding Thanos' presence, who only truly appeared in Avengers Assemble's post-credits scene and was eluded to in previous films), so I'm sure Tom Holland could stand his own with no supporting MCU characters in a third film (a lot of the first, standalone films dedicated to the Avengers don't really have other heroes, but Spiderman was one of the very few exceptions/the only exception?)
That said, after FFH, it's hard to imagine him not in MCU, and vice versa Last edited by Ant.; 21-08-2019 at 11:57 PM. |

I mean she essentially dumped him at the end of Far From Home anyway (it was a credits scene maybe?) - he said they were together when asked and at the same time she was like "lol no" then looked at him all confused and said it was just a "summer fling" or summat. Savage Aunt May.

POW! BLAM!

I wonder if the MCU could keep Tom Holland, but never name him onscreen, and give him a fake character name in the credits, haha. And also give him a new costume which isn't based on an existing Spidey costume, but never say Spider-Man onscreen....

Sony kind of have Disney by the balls to be honest. I’m sure there will be a deal made. Disney are literally building Spider-Man rides in their parks.

Never seen any Spiderman movie.
The only one I would watch is the one called Spider-verse, I believe it's an amination movie. |

There's no chance of Sony signing off on a Spidey death, not even to introduce a Miles Morales version. Sony will reboot Peter Parker Spider-man forever and they'll never kill off a previous incarnation, because that's too "final".
Honestly I expect Sony and Disney will keep re-signing movie deals until Tom Holland leaves the role (or the MCU loses popularity ... ... ?). They were never going to NOT reach a deal this time round, it was all just bluster from both sides while negotiating contracts, there are hundreds of millions of not over a billion $$$ tied up in the Spidey-MCU connection... he's clearly going to be a big part of establishing the new phase for MCU, and having him as part of the MCU is a huge draw for Sony's standalone Spider-man stuff. I'll get around to watching Far From Home now then, I was holding off on it since I heard there's a few cliff hangers and such that were reliant on Spidey being in the MCU.
