SimCity has been announced by EA. First rumoured last week, the city building franchise will return with a reboot on PC sometime in 2013. It promises to offer the series' signature depth alongside next generation accessibility and multiplayer options. For the first time, decisions will have impacts beyond the city limits, with issues such as climate change, natural disasters and renewable resources to consider. It will be created by original developer Maxis and built using its new proprietary GlassBox Engine. "We'd like to thank the millions of fans who have helped make SimCity synonymous with the city-building genre," said EA's senior vice president of Maxis Lucy Bradshaw. "This is a franchise that means the world to us at Maxis and we're happy to be bringing it back home where we are re-imagining it for an entirely new generation of players." She added: "Using our proprietary GlassBox Engine, SimCity for PC will equip players with the tools to play the most sophisticated simulation of its kind. We are dedicated to making sure the experience - no matter the platform - has the fun, flavour and playability that has been intrinsic to the franchise since its birth." SimCity saw its first release in 1989 and the franchise has gone on to sell over 30 million copies worldwide.

I remember being obsessed with building houses on Sims back in the early 2000's. Not played it in years though.
