Default I thought she was Catholic?

She just called herself a Christian on BOTS and no one questioned it.

You were probably brought up as Church of England, which is a sub-brand of Christianity, as is Catholicism.

"Christianity" is not a religion as such, it us an umbrella term covering a number of religions.

(I'm an ex-Catholic).

Hope that helps.

Christianity is an umbrella term, lots of different denominations identify as Christian but disagree over all sorts of things within that; practices, interpretation, theology etc. Catholicism is the biggest Christian church and one of the oldest if not the oldest.

There is no "Christian" church. That is a broad term that a few religions fall under.

It was not just a "Christian" church, I can assure you of that.

It was some different brand of Christianity from Catholic.

I can see why you think that way Daniel.
There was and still is to a degree a lot more 'discipline' attached to the Catholic Church but it is far more relaxed now than it was.

Generally Catholic services, re - the Mass, go on a lot longer usually than other Christian churches services.

Er no. I have been to Catholic and Anglican services.

Catholic services are about 2/3 to 3/4 the length of an Anglican service.

Being Roman Catholic I usually go to Easter services with one of my Parents, the Anglican one I once went to was done in less than an hour, the Catholic one, we were still there after over one and half hours.

However,I have noticed not a great deal of difference in the services now.

I was raised as a catholic, the services are around 40/45 minutes on average
