All the more reason why the protestors planning to fly a stupid balloon over London ridiculing Trump should not act like children and antagonise him further I would have thought! The Protestors need to grow up! |

I can see Trumps point to be fair.America are sick of carrying Europe when it comes to Nato’s defence.Europe borders Russia.Hundreds of thousands of Russian troops conduct military exercises on Europes border.EU countries need to atleast pay their way and keep up their 2% defence spending or why should America?

Oh wow, sorry for the rather out of character post there. I just kind of disagree with everyone walking on eggshells and such, which appears to be what some expect us to do when it comes to Trump.

Yes around 30,000 USA troops in Germany. All he wants is for them to pay more. President Bill Clinton asked for it - but they refused |

Call me a conspiracy theorist if you like, but I believe that Trump is working for Putin in return for his assistance in winning the election. Trump has been trying to disrupt europe since he got in office and withdrawing from Nato would play directly in to Putins hands. Trump has done a lot of weird stuff since getting in to power that makes a lot more sense when viewed from a Russian perspective.

I don’t expect anyone to walk on eggshells around him, but like it or not America has a lot of power in this and unecesarrily antagonising him may not be wise.

Brexit supporters: "We must not bow to the EU they want to control Britain!"
Also Brexit supporters: "We must tongue America's arsehole whilst giving it a reacharound it's the only way! Give 'em whatever they want!" |

I love my country, but I'm not so sure why you guys should buckle under pressure everytime the US makes demands... seems like if you want independence, then maybe picking up some of Trump's forward habits may not be too bad for establishing your sovereignty. This of course, is said by outsider absolutely ignorant of most politics there, so I'm not sure what the right balance would be or if it can even be struck...
I'm not an absolute isolationist, but I would like to see us step back a little and cede the ground to other nations to give them a chance at the fight... however, I read the other day that several nations announced moving their embassy to Jerusalem and my first thought was why did it take the US making that move for others to act? If that is what they believed? I guess considering the potential domino effect our actions may have, then it's even more important why the Russia investigation should continue for all our sake, to it's ultimate conclusion... anyway, seems like we're ready to negotiate and willing to work with other nations to find that correct balance, which is the most important thing... like his balloon, Trump could just be full of hot air. Well if that is all you can take away from discussion with those who voted for Brexit you are completely missing the point but then why try to understand something from another point of view when you can just mock it. You don't have to agree with someone, or dare I say, swallow their ****, to offer polite hospitality when they visit your home. All the visits without giant baby by all the other meglomaniacs from around the world have proved that. Mocking, shouting down, shaking a fist and berating someone for their view does not win them over or change their view. But sure let's berate him rather than talking to him.

There will come a time in future once this madness is over, when all this isolationist nonsense will have to be undone and we will go back to close international cooperation. Luckily younger generations are more pro European and open minded

Younger generations tend to go with the crowd. The tide could turn at any time if mass immigration has more negative effects than positive.
