I feel like I've lost the plot watching that, nevermind missed it.

But you are hilarious, I like it. Please continue. You'd be a scream in the house .

Yeah - really could they be more incompetent if they tried ??? i didn't like her much but what a way to get treated - yer in and now yer out , no air time probably ! and then leave with all that hanging over your head - talk about being cruel ! This is totally BB's fault and she'll be left picking up the pieces and still probably clueless as to why.

Obviously the vetting was not done properly. This was exposed on here last night and probably prompted them to look into it. They obviously found evidence they 'overlooked'...unprofessional but they had to act. They had to give her the boot to ensure their wasn't any racist comments. It's reported some were made recently..the girl is young and niave..BB could not risk it.

No Wrongspeak!!

Maybe BB should have a Room 101 task, it would have been fun to watch Ellis be serenaded by Cliff Richard, and one of them even has a fear of rats!

Where's the proof that she tweeted this stuff?

None of the news sites will show the actual tweets, just blurred out ones.

I mean obviously she is a bit of a dickhead, but I don't really understand what ejecting her actually accomplishes? The damage is already done and it just looks really messy on productions part.

Yeah. Though from what we knew at the time, it was all experimental when it had just came out (social), so we didn't know how it would really change the way we would interact. In reality, it's a data-mining scheme for companies/organizations to "profit" off personal information. The actual "high" that it ellicits is based on faux interactions which reinforce tunnel-vision, which is extremely damaging imo. It always left me feeling scummy. Twitter particularly is very much a stalking tool, which is fine for brands, not so great for facilitating healthy interactions/relationships. People need a way to create/define barriers. Regardless, it's not made me feel more connected to not a single person and I hated every minute of it, how empty the interactions felt.

There's all the studies now that show it too, the bad effects. It messes with our brain chemistry and creates dependence on that dopamine "high"... except we need boredom to facilitate creativity, to force the mind to think out of the box for its solutions, to be more innovative, to come up with new ideas... not just copy-cat our lives & interactions from things we "study" on Instagram/FB... which is really the only "skill" it gives us is to pander to others, emulate them and squeeze out as much as we can from those relationships... it's like lemonade, except the people we're vamping from have very little nutritional value, as they're likely there for the same reason as them (vamping)... so not only is like blood from a turnip, but what we do get is very low in actual "nutritional" value (i.e. it blows)...

I much prefer a forum or a more "intimate" experience where it's smaller numbers... but even those smaller sites are starting to inherit some of the problems, are becoming more like social... where the more obscene/loud/obnoxious that person is, the more "popular" they'll be treated... the nice thing about forums at least are they are such a high time investment, and require so much energy to maintian, that it does tend to be the more "dedicated" folk who post on them... most people anyway who aren't just sh**posters... but there's a lot of that too on any site.

Oh, and I miss when modding used to be a thing. Heh. Now if people happen to disagree with a moderation decision, they're automatically labeled as Nazis and it might as well be another chapter of 1984...

BANG ON and my thoughts exactly.

I have long had more than a feeling that BB might KNOW when a Housemate has a 'scandalous' past but unless 'Serious Crimes' are involved they choose to ignore it because they are in a 'Win/Win situation by doing so.

Forget whatever 'Orwellian' 'Social Experiment' the show's creator - John De Moy Jr - might have originally had in mind when he created the show because that vision has been prostituted for commercialism and BB has long been ALL about viewing figures and the almighty 'Dollar'.

Wheedling out all applicants who have 'controversial' pasts virtually guarantees that the series will be a 'bore-fest' and THAT does not put 'bums on seats.

'Mavericks', 'Loose Cannons'and 'Emotionally-Volatile' HM's are more likely to 'kick-off' and create drama, tension, and conflict, and THAT is what does put 'bums on seats' and increases advertising revenues.

If the 'controversial' applicant is accepted on to the show and DOES deliver drama as anticipated and hoped for, then the ensuing controversy guarantees massive publicity, often outside of the show's audience - a la Roxanne Pallett - and the show's producers win.

If the 'controversial' applicant is accepted on to the show but has to be evicted BEFORE the show has really gotten underway because of public protest, pressure or notification about some unsavoury incident in that HM's past - a la Ellis - then, again, the ensuing controversy generates massive publicity and again, the producers win.

The tired old excuse that the production company's researchers 'have not done their jobs properly does not wash with me because this is not the first incident of its kind and once alerted to a faux pas NO professional Television Production Company continues to make the same mistake.

...yeah I find it really difficult to believe they didn’t know either...especially as they have apparently made so many similar ‘mistakes’ in recent times...I mean that would make them more careful in their basic checks, surely...?...and it’s not just exploitation for me, it’s also a very dangerous thing to do because then that housemate is thrown back into the public to feel the force of ‘hate’, which will inevitably happen as well...there are some loonies out there as we know...so if it’s deliberate then it’s very dangerous and goes far beyond anything Ellis may have said...

I just hope her replacement is good. Obviously what she said is awful but it happened when she was an ignorant child. Could’ve been a good housemate but whatev
