If Joey hadn't voted to evict Tamar over Ryan then Tamar would've played the ~PERFECT GAME~ with no votes to evict and a unanimous vote to win

Why does anyone care that she's a black woman though? It's not 1950.

It's amazing that three people of colour have won in a row in North American BB (Paras, Kacey, and now Tamar) and I hope we continue to see them winning and it's a shame it took this long but I hope the argument can be put to bed now.

What argument? Why is it any more amazing for a "POC" to win than anyone else? Do we still judge people based on race, in 2019?

All these people saying "can we stop talking about it now"

Maybe cos it's black history month and against all odds from BBUS standards? A brilliant feat

True. Why are people being looked at for their ethnicity? Really?

Because black people were always written off as players who could never win the game. When people like Danielle Reyes were the best players but never won makes you think that you, as a black person, you have no chance. But now a black person has won, they cannot be written off anymore and they will be able to believe that they are just as capable of winning as everyone else.

They didn’t win because the jury didn’t think they’d should win, it’s not to do with ethnicity in the way the jury vote. Calling somebody the best player is an opinion and not a fact so is irrelevant.
They are just as capable as winning as everyone else and never was anything stated otherwise.

Why is the thing you notice about the people that win is their ethnicity?

Tamar winning means the next black girl who walks into the house in the summer will be out on her arse in a week because ‘SHES JUST LIKE TAMAR’. Pity they couldn’t do this with all the plain white males who seem to sail through one after another .

Maybe because this show has a history of casting the same lazy trope of black woman to tick a box instead of casting ones that would make strong players and have a chance of winning, so a black woman going against the odds and winning is a milestone.

Why does it bother you so much?

Black people are against the odds on these shows not socially or because of racial factors or because of “which kind” they cast but because there are about 2-3 of them per season out of about 16?

Coincidence that once it’s a bit more evenly distributed a black woman wins? I think not

We see a fair amount more black winners on Survivor because there’s a fair amount more of them casted on a season-to-season basis. This is simple math and statistics

Not really though, we still only get about 2 black people per season on Survivor too. And the series where black/POC winners won were often as you said the seasons where there were more than 2 POCs (Earl being the biggest example - all the final 3 were black that season because there were about 2 white people in a cast of 19 )

Haven't really caught up on the past two episodes yet and ever since her disgusting treatment of Tom, I've grown to dislike her more and it'll be hard for me to be satisfied by this win I've been spoiled on.

But since we're on the subject of racial irony, in a season with a black female winner, it's funny that the straight white male Ryan was gradually completely irritating and mistrustful to the house to the point where he got the target when people with his humour normally sail to the end
