Not talking in terms of weather only but trends/popular culture. Kids rave about summer 2016 but that weren’t a patch on the summer of 2006 partly because that was the last summer Big Brother was worth watching.

Last summer was the best for a long time.
Beautiful weather, England World Cup run.

I think age plays a huge part in how we look back on certain summers.
I definitely agree with the 2006 shout but then that's because I was 16 then, started partying, had our prom, left high school, started college, and music was pretty damn good. (Hips Don't Lie, SexyBack, Lily Allen's debut, Killers' When You Were Young, I Don't Feel Like Dancin', Pussycat Dolls and Black Eyed Peas in full swing) I also loved the summer of 2004 because I got crazy into the Euro tournament that year and holidayed with the school in Germany, made my closest friends, etc. Loved last summer though. Any summer with a world cup or Olympics is automatically good (oh god, the summer of 2012 was amazing).

Last series Big Brother was culturally relevant for one thing. Plus the culture of the time and not just for the music and World Cup. I dunno. I feel like we had a mini golden era round about 2002 to 2006. A lot of things changed from 2006/07 onwards as far as old-school trends go if you know what I mean.
