YOUGOV Snap poll: post - interview, the public remain unsympathetic to Harry and Meghan

As the dust settles following the controversial royal interview, what do Britons make of the situation?

Prince Harry and Meghan’s tell-all interview with Orpah Winfrey was viewed by over 11 million Britons during its UK debut on Monday night, and now new YouGov polling for Sky News reveals public sentiment has shifted little compared to attitudes a week ago.

It appears to be an age related issue according to Sky survey

The older the person the more likely they are to side with the Royal family ...

Another question that needs to be asked is - why did Harry even tell his allegedly emotionally vulnerable wife at all?

“I know you are in a bad way, but just wait until you hear what so - and - so said!"

exactly, you have a word with the person (if it did happen) and explain why you think its not a great thing to say. YOu dont go and trigger your new wife who essentially is staying at the in-laws. What did he think would be the benefit of doing so?

Well there's no way the Queen, or surely His Father or Brother will ever strip them of titles.

They can't change he was born a Royal.

The Queen's uncle, King Edward VIII, was to marry an American divorcee, against the family's wishes, he then even abdicated from the throne.
Thrusting his then less prepared Brother into the Monarch's position.

He was created then Duke of Windsor, his wife the Duchess of Windsor.

So despite the trashy Mails eagerness from loaded polling to further inflict on this couple punishment for really doing nothing, I hope will get the total ignoring of same from this Queen.

What a nation we are becoming, dismissive of mental health and feelings of losing life, of looking to dismiss probable racial comments about an unborn baby.
Then clamouring in kangaroo courts as judgement of them too.

Good lord, the Monarchy may as well go back and open the Tower up again as a torture chamber to please the venom of some in this Country now.

I could easily believe, unbelievably, and with dismay, if we still had public executions in the UK, there'd be people still clamouring to be as near the front as possible to watch them.

Hateful, truly hateful, no other way to say it as to the hounding of these 2.
Who no-one has to even listen to if they don't want to or watch if they don't want to.

To only do so, to just seek any daft tiny thing to try to tear them to pieces on is in my view sick.

Because he's her husband and any children they have will be his as well? I'd be annoyed if my husband wasn't honest with me/felt he couldn't talk to me about things that were upsetting him. We're a team, we deal with stuff together

Possibly as once she was pregnant, if he was away on Royal duty, he wouldn't have been able to protect her from still hearing it.
Or being asked it.
IF the person who is the one who said it was determined to get an answer that suited him/ her.

So Prince Harry probably alerted her, just in case that scenario arose.

(Oh but then no, of course that could never even be a possibility !!

That a husband would want his wife to have full knowledge of what was being said or asked about as to their unborn child).

Yes, if my wife was in a emotionally vulnerable state, the last thing I'd do would be to add to her turmoil at that time. As you say, I'd tackle the person and make sure they never uttered those sentiments again and perhaps tell my wife at a later time when she was in a better place.
What others would do is up to them, I'm saying what I think would be best.

Yes, that poll showed as much as any polls can be trusted really.

That under 35s were strongly in the Prince Harry and Meghan support.
While much older were solidly in the Royal support side.

My own personal view.
I'm braying the door of 30 down now .
My Mum, (often holds different views to me), she is now in her 70s.
We're both in the more supportive to Prince Harry and Meghan.

I wonder what is next, will they continue to hang out the dirty laundry or are they done

Will Harry come back as previously planned in June and how awkward will that be

A source close to the couple told the Daily Telegraph just before the interview was to be aired in the UK:
" They have insisted their interview would be the ‘last word’ on the rift with the Royal family. It was something they felt they needed to do, but now they feel a line has been drawn under that chapter of their lives".

I didn't watch it. What's the point off hearing half a story? And anyway, the film on Film4 at the same time was 10/10.
