Was this in London? They could walk to Manchester before the police show up .

I think he grabs some detergent at the end and TBH I understand. That **** is expensive and the own-brand stuff just doesn't do the job compared to proper brands.

Just noticed on our high street, this morning a shop window had been smashed and washing machines in the window stolen.

Madness.

With shoplifting they'll have a hard time getting a charge to stick unless caught in possession of the stolen items - and from the looks of what they were stealing, that will be long gone (consumed).

Maybe they can find the Ariel? Looked like a biggish bottle, that'll last 30+ washes!

tl;dr nothing will happen these people likely have countless shoplifting notches on their record already. There's no room in the jails for petty thieves. If they'd threatened or fought with staff maybe but looks like they walked in and out unchallenged .

I know Tesco has given hundreds of thousands to the police to crack down on shoplifting

The sad thing is is that if any good member of the community apprehended them, they'd recieve a stiffer sentence than the actual criminals. But that's where we are.

And what are you gonna do about it? Nothing, because you're too scared of the authority you champion as your guardians.

Put your phones down, stop filming and wrestle these criminals to the ground. That's if you want to protect your communities. Anyone that criminises you for doing that good service to your community is our enemy

If that's true then we're in an even worse state that we realise as a country. Police acting as mercenary security for big companies?

If it was a small locally-owned business you might have a point Alf but anyone who would put their arse on the line to protect bloody TESCO is a thoroughbred idiot. And that includes (non-security) staff. Security staff should do it obviously, as that's the job they took.

Don't do what this guy says and "stay in here, close the door" get out and defend your people from criminality. There's far more of us good people then there are of these criminals.

This is our war. We don't have to run out into no man's land. We just have to pin these scumbags to the ground. Time to step up and do your bit.

Again Alf if you see someone being assaulted - sure step in. If you see a local business being targetted, sure do something about it if you feel able to.

If you see someone robbing off with bottles of vodka and some detergent from a massive superkarmet chain who could afford 10x the security if they cared enough ... ? Stand back and let them pass. They could have knives, they could have needles. If it's to help another human being who is being attacked then that's one thing. Putting yourself in harms way to help ... .. .. ..... Tesco... is absolute madness.
