Depends on HOW it was said I guess. On paper, I don't think it was racist, but if she said it in a malicious way (which I doubt by the way) then yeah, I can see why it could be deemed offensive.

I don't see it as negative. It takes all sorts to make a world, isn't that the old adage? People are too sensitive. When you think about the crap that's going on in the world, to make a massive thing out of this is madness. I could understand if it was meant maliciously, but as much as I'm not a Michelle fan, I don't think she meant it like that.

I agree and disagree with you on that one, generally speaking when someone uses the phrase "insert word here" and all sorts it usually is negative and implying that "insert word here" is rif raf, having said that I would seriously doubt Michelle was being malicious just having a joke.

Yeah, I get you. So I demand we bloody reclaim the phrase. This forum is made up of all sorts, and actually, I think we'd all agree that's a positive thing. How boring if we were all alike.

I kinda agree with this. It's not the usage of the word "black", obviously that isnt racist, but I suppose it's the way she classed black people as being part of "all sorts" which could have derogatory connatations if you ask me.

Yeah, probably. Although out of that whole Jade affair came something positive, I think. I'm not sure Shilpa would have won if the Great British Public hadn't decided that what had been levelled at her was appalling and unfair, and they voted for Shilpa as a consequence. Although there are plenty of bigots around, I'm happy to say that I think decent people outnumber them greatly.

I assume they (Brian, Victor, and Michelle) were describing the composition of the house - black, gay, transgender, loopy-loos etc., and it got truncated to blacks and all-sorts.
