A BB spokesman said: “Brian and Michelle were reminded about the rules regarding unacceptable language.”

I put a thread on the other night about this, but no one was sure what had been said ,but i do know it was said in jest ,if im not fooking sick of PC Britain ,and all this started because Jade didnt like a stuck up bitch in BB ,And called her POPPADOM which if you read ANY dictionary is is FOODSTUFF ,not a RACE ,as is BLACK ,fook me is THAT illegal as well now ? fooking pathetic

It all comes down to context and intent.

The Jade incident wrt poppadums was only a part of a series of racial abuse. There was the mimicing and the thing about chicken, and there were 2 others at it as well as Jade.

She was trying to imply that there's something stereotypical about all Indians, branding her a "poppadom" is pretty racist and demeaning if you ask me, and was clearly intended as such with her trying to isolate and distinguish Shilpa from herself because of her heritage

In an episode of Cheers once I remember them refer to an English man as fish and chips. I dont think the poppadom remark was any different than that really. Its just a flippant culture reference that quickly identifies where theyre from.

Of course, context is everything.

Huh? Obviously "poppadom" is not a religion or a race, but she was using it as a derogatory term against Indians, using something stereotypical of her country to mock her, and using it to distinguish herself from Shilpa purely because of their different cultures.
