Since everyone's always going on about certain hm's being sexist, I'm surprised no one has made this thread already...
During the task when Linda was eating dog food why did Luisa say Jim or Ollie should be doing that instead? why just the two guys? During Liz's interview she said to Emma no man should call a woman a name, why not say no one should call anyone names, is it ok for a woman to call a man names then? Discuss |

I'm not sure if they're typical of feminists but I've noticed they want things both ways. Basically whichever situation makes the woman come out looking better.

Tbf everyone has some sexist views that they themselves probably don't realize, but with certain HM's they have prejudices all over the place so of course they're gonna get attacked for it.

Tbh, I was so upset seeing Liz go to even care what she said. It probably was sexist, but ehh.

You're getting mixed up with common courtesy and sexism. Linda is an elderly woman the men definitely should have put themselves forward.
Anyone who calls that sexism is simply clutching at straws. Is it sexist to open a door for a woman? Pretty sure 100% of people on this forum said in a poll the other day it's not |

It wasn't about opening a door not sure where your going with that, Liz said it's not ok for a man to call a woman a name if it wasn't sexism she would have said its not ok for anyone to call someone else a name regardless of gender. Who's straw clutching here |

To be fair, Liz may have just said the wrong thing. She might not have tried to convey notions of sexism.

If it was sexism from Luisa she would have said any of the guys not just those two. She was just thinking of people who would have probably coped better than Linda. Reading too much into that comment I think.

It's hypocrisy more than anything. Luisa can't say Dappy thinks men and women aren't equal and get in a row over it and then say stuff like a man should do the eating task or "why are you talking to me like this? I am a woman"
Hypocrisy more than Sexism I think. |

Seriously Jack? Fair enough I understand why some people may find what Linda said a bit sexist even if I don't agree but the Liz thing is a million billion percent not sexist, I cannot comprehend people in here :/ it's just courtesy

Ollie and Jim were the only guys in that part of the task, Why wouldn't Liz have coped with the task?

Would you have nominated Liz to do it over somebody like Ollie who is up for anything and Jim who is a good team player?

My point was there was no other guys available to do it so your previous argument never made any sense and if it wasn't being sexist then why couldn't she have said Liz too. No denying this one I'm afraid, complete sexism from Luisa that was... |

Whether it's the idea that women should do domestic tasks like ironing and cleaning, or telling guys that dare to show any emotion to 'man up' - these beliefs are unequal in nature and only further concepts of masculinity and femininity, which isn't helpful to society at all, boundaries between men and women are becoming increasingly blurred and that's a good thing, we don't want that to be slowed down Last edited by Jack_; 22-01-2014 at 11:47 PM. |

Regarding what Liz said, it's a saying millions of people say with no intention of being sexist because it's just manners. She didn't mean it's okay to swear at men she just meant it's especially worse for a man to do it to a woman, which it is. Are the people who give up their seats to women being sexist too? No. It's just a traditional value in this country Last edited by Me. I Am Salman; 22-01-2014 at 11:54 PM. |

With the second part of your post you are again going off on a tangent, of course a man giving up his seat for a woman is seen as manners or traditional but it's also seen by others as patronising, regardless of that it's a completely different scenario from calling someone names. |
