This! Says a lot that the most popular housemates is the only normal guy and not the loudmouths.

I just try to enjoy it without worrying too much. They went with it for 6 years, they hopefully will keep it until BB20.
Yep, that's exactly what I'm thinking. I'm wondering why this series is doing so bad in ratings. In my opinion, the mix of housemates is one of the better ones with a lot of diversity (age gap, cultural differences). It's quite entertaining and I haven't been bored yet.

Apart from that, I really can't see the appeal of Love Island. All the contestants look the same. You only see lads with sixpacks and stereotypical beach babes. Where's the diversity in age and look? Are the viewers not interested in seeing different types of people? I'm glad that BB also includes housemates that don't only care about their looks. You wouldn't see a contestant like Raph on LI.

btw: Nice to see that there is another BBUK viewer from Germany on this forum. Köln grüßt Trier.

They don't care about viewers. They simply don't listen.
If they want to go for "reality tv rejects" and scripted drama, might as well tape the show 2 months in advance and broadcast it.

But then again, BB will always remain BB in my heart. Die hard fan forever.

I think the same problems the show has been having for a few years have just escalated this year and spilled out to the general public. Before now it was mostly just the fans complaining about the twists, the rule braking (outside contact and no format etc) but now, way more than ever, the general public have also had enough and literally everyone is done with the reality casting and messy format.

This series isn't even boring or bad like 16 was, they've just made so many mistakes with it. I literally think the only way they could get viewers back next series would be to completely go back to basics, LISTEN to the audience and actually promote it as going back to basics with normal people etc. I don't think there is any way to 'save' this series, they just need to clean up their act and hope ratings rise slightly and stabilise.

They deserve this for completely ignoring their fans since 2012, how long have we been asking for live feed? How much have we emphasised on the importance of advertising? Why haven't we got the series that isn't manipulated by producers that we've been asking for? They've sold out the loyal fans for the fickle GP and its backfired.

It's already been said here but all they need to do to get ratings up is have normal everyday people in the lineup, have a consistent format with one or two twists, literally have an hour or two of live feed a night (which increased press coverage and ratings for BB14) and have decent tasks. But every single series they do the complete bloody opposite of what everyone wants. And they also need to axe summer CBB. In fact I kind of hope C5 axes the whole thing when the contract runs out so that another channel can revive it in a couple of years and treat it properly.

GJ96 just posted a very plausible theory on twitter lol

channel 5 are making it unsellable. Final series, low ratings, angry fans, no interest = no one else wanting to buy it meaning no competition for them in a bidding war to keep it

That would mean no one would want it INCLUDING them if they give it the hug of death so idk

In an ideal world, C5 would put it to bed now and in a few or more years C4 would revive their BB like they have been reviving old shows, give it a lot of marketing as it coming back home and everything to restore its glory but that's very unlikely unfortunately

Think it's a combination of the rise of LI's popularity, the piss poor production of the show and the late time slots.

Apparently it's not really an issue but I see a lot more people talking about Love Island on all of social media accounts.

Yes they are. Unfortunately all the producers seem to want is people to shag on TV. Thus they throw a load of model-types who love themselves and claim they will get pissed and shag anything in. And are disappointed year after year.

FFS the obsession with showmances and sex is unreal. Showmances are boring plus its not like they are going to get someone who shags on the kitchen table or anything. You can never see owt when they do it and its just gross to watch anyway tbh. Mind, if Marco and Laura had stayed together longer than the few days they had, I do think they would have been shagging all over the house infront of the other housemates...

I've been saying that for years but I think we're finally at a point where lets face it, if they were gonna only have 2 series a year, than two CBB's would be better for c5.
