Default Bus and Tube explosions in London

I don't know if anyone has been following the news but there have been a number of Bus and Tube explosions in London the morning. There have been a number of people killed and many more injured.

Tony Blair has announced that these are Terrorist Attacks and al-Qaeda has posted a statement on the a website claiming responsibility.

I would just like to send my sympathy to the relatives of those that have died and wish those that are injured a speedy recovery.

Hell, I haven't even heard about that yet. I've had my head down all morning in work, and just came onto the website for a quick look to see what was going on.

I'll have to see the news sites to see what's happened in London. It sounds awful.

[PICTURE REMOVED - I think most people have seen it now]

Latest Picture released by the Metropolitan Police

Please remember this is one of 1000's of Red Buses!

UPDATE: A Transport for London spokeswoman says the bus hit by the explosion was a number 30, travelling from Hackney to Marble Arch.

I think there is a lot of confusion at the moment. An eye witness describing the bus blast said:

"It was a massive explosion and there were papers and half a bus flying through the air, I think it was the number 205"

The BBC are reporting a number of sources claiming responsibility for the bombing and Prime Minster claimed it was a Terrorist attack, but could it be anything else?

I don't think we know if it is the same scale yet..... but it starting to sound worse by the minute.

It was the same sort of attack as in spain designed to stop the city dead by attacking the transport system.

What a real shame.I really do hope that the people killed is kept to a minimum and their family and firends are comforted well.

UI am also sick of hearing about the effect this has on the "Ł"...for gods sake people have been killed.

Its worrying to know that someone who is capable of doing this will do anything.

Such a shame that more lives have to be lost.

Well I hope when they are caught, and they have to be caught, we actually deal with them in the way they deserve. Not with the usual rap over the knuckles. These people have killed and deserve to get the full weight of the law thrown at them.

We are too nice in this country and its time we hardened ourselves cos if we dont this type of thing will happen again and again.

Blowing up a bus it takes a brave man (or woman) to do that doesnt it.

The whole thing makes me so angry.

ive been watching this on sky news all morning and it really upsets me that the terriost organisations get there kicks out of killing peole. and if what tony blair said that this bomming was to coninside with the opening of the G8 summit then tahts worse because countries are comeing together to help other countries and the terriost organisations dont seem to like it.
some of the images and accounts of people who were there are horiffic.

It is just so awful. I was listening to the news earlier with tears streaming down my face. I feel so sorry for anybody affected by this.

steve_g, I agree about the emergency services, we are very lucky to have such services. They are doing a wonderful job.

All I can say is OH MY FLIPPING GOD!

Thursday's, My Fiancee and I do not work, and I am glad! My office is 5 minutes from where one of the explosions went off!

I saw some of my colleagues and friends from neighbouring offices in the background on the news, all fine, but I have not been able to get hold of a few. I'm sure it's the usual reasons of phone off/meetings etc etc but I'm a bit worried as some of them commute!

This is unbelievable, totally cowardly and I am lost for words and full of anger!

The saddest thing about this is that it just seems to have been waiting to happen and that London has been "lucky" not to have had a major incident like this before. We were travelling to near Birmingham and back today to visit a relative and ended up trying to make sure family living and working in London were OK - so far, so good!

I find it amazing that there are only 2 confirmed deaths on the bus so far, looking at the way it was completely mangled up. It's all so horrible, but we need to show these crackpot fundamentalists that we don't give in to cowards and bullies!
