What has his profession got to do with it? Most politicians are actors.

The former US vice-presidential candidate argued that a humble spirit could help leaders to get more answers on issues such as health care, energy and national security.

In a video released Friday by the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association, the 2008 Republican candidate for vice president, said it was important for leaders to recognise they don't have all the answers.

Mrs Palin said: "No one person has all the right answers. It takes a united nation, and it does take godly counsel, and it takes prayer and answers to prayer - and a collective humble heart of a nation seeking God's hand of protection and his blessings of prosperity.

"I think if we can get back to that, our country will be a safer, more prosperous and healthier nation."

The former Alaska governor referred to an Abraham Lincoln proclamation that declared a day of national humiliation, fasting, and prayer.

She said the United States has been "touched by God" because the nation's early leaders dedicated the country to God.

Mrs Palin said: "If we could get back to that, that humbleness, with that kind of contrite spirit, I think that we would be able to be provided more of the answers to so many of the great challenges that we're facing.

"And these are huge challenges, whether we're talking about health care, whether we're talking about energy independence, whether we're talking about national security measures."

No? I think your the only person assuming that. He is entitled to give his views on things just like everyone else. What do you want to do, censor him because he is an actor?

[And maybe because he does not agree with your views?]

Not only politics, but religion has no place anywhere in government, or education. If people have such strong faith in god, they should just go ahead and practice their thing and not worry about where else god shows up. Why are they so obsessed with god appearing on dollar bills and above blackboards in elementary school classes?

It's never something to do with falling church attendances or them wanting us to believe what they believe, is it?

He is famous. Famous people tend to get coverage, and thus a platform to air views. Again, what do you want to do, censor him? Why does his opinion mean less because he is an actor? Well?

do you think the vid was posted for political reasons or because it was MD and the poster thought that he was cool and therefore must be on to something?

Who cares why it was posted? Stop dodging the point. It's not about why it was posted, it's about why you think Matt Damon's opinions matter less because he is an actor? You acted like he was not allowed to speak up on issued or that his opinion was somehow not valid. Now you are trying to step back away from that.

Why should I listen to your opinions? After all, your just an anonymous poster on a forum, right?

What are you talking about? I posted it because his condemnation of her was accurate and funny too. Get off your high horse about the fact that he's an actor.... he's an articulate, well read and intelligent young man who's voicing his concerns. I thought that was allowed in a democratic society, right?

There's absolutely nothing to talk about here because everything he said about her is based in fact. What is your problem? Do you deliberately go out of your way to get a rise outta people when you have nothing else to fall back on?

The guy is a jerk who is following the crowd? Wait ... you mean he is not following you? What about the crowds you follow? Is this a conspiracy on your part? The good old fashioned ''The US is being secretly run by teh LIBERAL GAY MEDIA!''.

You don't need to know anything about somebody as an individual to give your opinion on their policies or world view.

And why, LT, did you wait until now to finally actually say this? Trying to get a logical argument from you is like trying to draw blood from a stone.

He's states that because there's a good chance she may have become president and her political career was nothing to write home about. God, you're a bit dense.
