I thought the move Philip kept doing when he was going on about doing rock and roll was a bit strange. And I'm a bit bored of Louis making excuses for Philip by saying that he's nervous. They're all nervous -why should people go easier on Philip because of that? Yet, it's as if Louis seems to think that Simon should not criticise Philip at all.

I really hope that Louis doesn't decide to give Philip some rock and roll next week. It would be excruciating to watch.

Cliff Richard?? Totally agree Ruth! I think that'd be kettle time for me!!

Now, I'm going to say something extremely controversial: don't be too gobsmacked: IMO The Conway Sisters sung "You Raise Me Up" better than Westlife themselves. I stress "better" loosely, as you'll know I'm not their biggest fan!

Ok, on a Saturday night I have a habit of recording Strictly Come Dancing and watching the X Factor, as their times tend to clash. Watching the Conways on TXF, I thought they were much better than last week, but still nothing to rave about.

However, it was with shock that I watched the SCD results show, where Westlife performed the exact same song and MIMED! How ironic and embarassing is that? I can't claim that they couldn't sing live, as they have previously boasted about the "top-notch acoustics for live bands and performances".

It is therefore that I have a reluctant amount of respect for the Conways, as they took on Westlife's song, sung it LIVE on live TV, compared to the men themselves who chickened out and MIMED! I must admit that credit needs to be given where it is deserved. Still, after this, I am not too fond of TCS and don't think they've got a cat in hell's chance of winning!

Did anyone else notice this?

I think the best version of You Raise Me Up is Josh Groban's.

I agree Piperz, the Conways can sing, but they're just a bit boring.

Can't stand Westlife I didn't know about them being on tv last night, but it doesn't surprise me at all to learn that they mimed it.

Do you want an X Factor forum on the message board for all the X Factor posts?

I haven't really got in to the show yet, but I saw some of yesterday's. I saw the gushing praise they gave to Shayne and thought they are trying to avoid another Steve Brookstein where Sharon really criticised him and then he disappeared soon after he won.

The judges are all getting behind someone they think is marketable this time.

As Ruth said, and I agree, the original version of Your Raise Me Up by Josh Groban is by far the best one.

As for Westlife, I have seen them live twice... (shuddup, do not slag me off pleaaasee).. and I have to say, that they were actually very very good live. But, it's true what you say, when "successful" bands mime on telly, it's extremely lame.
