Shane Underwhelmed is the word I would use. He gave an almost faultless performance, but it just left me cold.
Maria I love the Rolling Stones - one of my absolute total favourite groups of all time, and I LOVE this song. I am always very wary of cover versions of songs I love, but I have to say, I think she pulled it off. One of the best performances of the night - and I just cannot believe that she was voted off. Terrible decision. The contest has lost one of the best performers in it. Conways I thought that this was their best week yet. Every week up til now, they have been competent but boring. I do like this song anyway, and I thought they did well with it. Andy His performance tonight was superb - and I don't even like that song! However, the only thing I would say about Andy is that I really can't see what niche he would fit into. He is a great guy with a great voice, but I honestly can't see him selling a lot of records. Journey South This song is such an anthem! It's such a well known song that almost any cover version of it would be likely to fall short of the mark - but having said that I thought they did pretty well. Not their best performance, but certainly not bad at all. Chico OK, much as I like Chico, he's an entertainer more than a singer - and this song was all about the singing! You could just tell that he was itching to break into a boogie! Not his worst performance, but not his best. But I'm glad he got through. Nicholas I thought he was awful when he started, but improved throughout the song. I really don't like this song though, and I agreed with what Simon said - it's such a predictable choice. Brenda Oh dear. I have loved Brenda up till now, but I thought her performance tonight was one of the worst of the show (together with Nicholas). Disappointing. |

These were my ratings...
Shayne 6 Maria 7 The Conways Sisters 4 Andy 5 Journey South 5 Chico 5 Brenda 6 Nicholas 5 I was thinknig about how much potential the acts have to be successful after the show finishes... As far as record sales goes, some of them will pretty much struggle to sell records past the automatic hit first album (like most reality show acts do). Of the acts remaining Maria was one of three that had a realistic chance of selling records in the longish term - the others being Shayne and Nicholas. Unfortunately it's going to be difficult for her now, going out with about 6 weeks left. Andy and Brenda, if they win, will get a hit album of mainly covers off the back of the show. Unfortunately for them the record company will probably decide a second album is too difficult to market - unless the first sells very well - and drop them quietly (ala Steve Brookstein). Chico is really a novelty. Journey South could do okay or disappear, not sure which. I thought yesterday they did nothing more than a good impression of Bon Jovi - Stars in their Eyes type thing really. Not that it all matters much - the public are voting for who they like best, not who they think can make a record company a lot of money. |

Louis knows the Conway Sisters personally, and their family too.
It seems clear that he is incapable of being impartial, and cannot do his job properly. |

Gatorade me, Bitch!

Every week I make a review of the show and the performances, but to be honest, this week, I'm just too disgusted with what happened and have no desire to comment on the remaining contestants.
In my opinion the winner was unjustly chucked out, and the contest is now a joke. I doubt I will even bother to watch it next week. |

Louis Walsh made a mockery out of the show on saturday night by sending Maria home.
That man needs to take a look in he mirror! Andy is my favourite on the X-Factor. He is amazing. |
