He told the MGM Grand Garden Arena crowd that he was poised to retire if he lost Friday after battling for two years the effects of the intestinal disease diverticulitis. Lesnar said if he won in Las Vegas, he would pursue a chance to recapture the belt he took from Randy Couture in 2008 and lost three title defenses later to Cain Velasquez in October 2010. "Tonight is the last time you'll see me in the octagon," Lesnar said. Said White: "I had no idea he was going to do that. There were no signs." Some wonder if Lesnar, 34, would have bolted from the UFC if he could have beaten Overeem and Dos Santos, exiting with belt in hand. There have been rumors dating to last year that Lesnar was exploring a return to WWE. He told The Times recently he wouldn't shy from doing business with Vince McMahon. The WWE will start a new television network April 1 when it stages its annual Wrestlemania event in Miami, and it is feasible he could be added with a UFC blessing to appear at the event alongside Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson, John Cena and special guest Shaquille O'Neal ------------------------------------------------------ He was never going to be the same after his surgery....he gave it his all and you gotta respect him for that. Shame because he still drew insane PPV numbers. Hopefully he shows up on some sort of WWE tv soon.

He's almost certainly going to put in at least one showing for WWE then. Probably between now and 'Mania. It's a shame because like you said he drew amazing numbers and looked like a total prodigy, born-to-do-this type guy but it's already over.

PMSL Lesnar was a true bum. The guy was about twice the size of everyone who he was fighting yet he got smashed around by nearly everyone he fought

Brock is lucky to be alive. He could easily of called it quits then and no one would of blamed him. Yet he still gave it one last shot against one of the best strikers in the UFC. If you can not respect him for that then you probably don't understand the amount of work and bravery that took.
He's a champion in plenty more ways than one in my eyes anyway. Thank you Brock Lesnar.

Got Sonnen'd after flooring former world champion Frank Mir
Broke the orbital bone and retired veteran Heath Herring Destroyed former world champion Frank Mir on the mat Defeated one of the greatest of all time Randy Couture to win the UFC belt Seriously Ill, Nearly Died Came back from deep water and beat the undefeated Interim Champ Shain Carwin (Who apparently was the hardest hitter in the UFC) Lost to at the time undefeated UFC Heavyweight Champion Cain Valasquez Life Saving Opperation Lost to current dream/k1/strikeforce heavyweight champion alister Overeem In abreviated form that is one HELL of a ride. I am sure you can beef up each point too, not sure of the time line or acuracy, but it isn't far off. Regardless of how good he was in hindsight, dismissing what he's done, and the interest & money he generated for the sport with his experience level, is retarded. He was the company's top draw, FFS. |

If a bum can win the World title within 5 matches it doesn't say much for UFC then.
