I have only just started watching BBUSA and I believe it's only on three days a week...
do you think that's why it rates so well in comparison to BBUK? it's a lot of dedication to watch every night and maybe if we had BB on a few times a week for maybe an hour and a half it would do so much better and it would make the highlights so much more excitable. the only problem is that would mean even less time to get to know the housemates...so they should just have BB on a few times a week and then have a few hours livefeed somewhere. Idk |

Uk bb has a bad rep and stigma attached to it, plus the housemates aren't what you would call joe public and most have already been on tv or modelled before bb.

This is a constant argument between fans. Many say 10pm is better because there is less competition, while some say 9pm is better for the amount of people still awake etc.

I would like to see a Big Brother series aimed at mature audience with 16 normal people as housemates. Go back its roots of sociological experiment rather than an entertainment show. Get rid of evictions, highlights shows, clips and gossip. Replace it with a non stop live feed and a 1 hour discussion show each night. When housemates are evicted they don't get to say good bye and the show is not about them, they just have a 15 minute interview midway through the discussion show

You think an online 24 hour live feed with no clips to show the viewers whats going on or articles/gossip would be a good idea? People would have no idea who these people are or whats going on. This is the worst idea in BB theory history. Hang your head in shame. |

Its been on for years, (some) people outgrow these shows and move on with their lives. They are failing badly to capture the imaginations of the younger generation. Their ap only being available on one platform (that barely anybody uses) and their failure to integrate a purpose built website for the series which could include live streaming and **** loads of interactive stuff.

Just to confirm im its pretty much mostly aired at 10pm since its moce to Channel 5.
I remember one BB12 eviction started at 9pm and finished at 10pm then there was a new hour long show on in the middle. BB was then back on at 11:35 and finished at around 11:55. Seriously almost midnight lol. |

Thousands where online watching I cant understand why they pulled such a small amount of it, even the 20 minutes of live from the house has vanished. Its probably the worst BB website out of the whole world, other countries seem to have their live feed, viewer interaction as a main staple of the programme. |

Yea but with more viewers awake even with compeition theres a big chance it will add to the total of viewers that may have watched at 10 pm or to the hardcore viewers that are already dedicated.

It does involve a lot of dedication, although since on C5 the show has been edited with recaps at the start of every episode anyway so casual viewers and come in/out as they please and not get too lost with what's going on.
The launch shows are to blame the most this year. All of the housemates seemed pretty bland and all the same, no unique characters that stood out, a bit too 'samey'. That would have put off a lot of people straight away. The constant twists I think are damaging the show too. The producers probably make these twists as a way to grab more viewers although I think it does the opposite and pushes people away from the show. Tasks have been lacking and not that all engaging (the farm one was not too bad though). Plus no live feed at all doesn't help viewers get to know the housemates any more. Figures going down are most likely down to multiple things. I guess all we can do is hope that C5 renew the show and there's some changes made for a future civilian series. Just stripping away the gimmicks and twists would be a good start, getting back to basics, and sorting out tasks and the way the show is edited. |

IMO, the BBUS has good ratings because all they're up against reruns in the summer, whereas the UK TV's regular shows like Casualty, Holby City, Corrie, etc., have new shows all through the year.

I find US ratings funny though. BBUSA gets 5mil+ views every episode which is good in American and British standards but America has a larger population so you wouldn't think it'd be all that good of ratings.
Daily shows are a bit tedious and the tasks too repetitive and samey on C5. They need a noms episode, task episode, and eviction and 24/7 live feed. |

BBUSA rates better because they have a much larger population so ratings in general are higher.
The US TV schedule runs completely different too. Last edited by Marsh.; 29-06-2014 at 04:16 PM. |
