Lords appear to have voted against a 'hard brexit'. Bit of a blow for May, given her warnings a year back

Yes she threatened to do away with the lords because they refuse to do her bidding, she suggested flooding the chamber with tory peers...that's democracy under the conservatives! :/

or another route?

How much do the far right brexiteers like mogg care about the Irish? ..... not at all

''Jacob Rees-Mogg has appeared at an event in parliament arranged by the Brexit-focused thinktank Open Europe, and it’s fair to say the backbench figurehead of the arch-leavers is not mellowing. He argued that the UK “should ratchet up the pressure” on the EU in talks by threatening to not pay the Ł42bn divorce bill and point out the effect on the Irish economy of no trade deal:

If we were to apply the common external tariff on Irish beef, the Irish agricultural industry is in serious trouble. You’ve got to ask the EU: does it want to sacrifice the economy of Ireland on the altar of EU ideology? I my guess is that the answer is no, and therefore we are in a very strong negotiating position.''

I don't know about you, but to me this looks very blackmaily :/

More lies from the 'Remoaners'. I cannot wait for about 3 years after we have 'Brexited' when we are buoyant as a country and the doubters have been proved wrong.

If May does not give the EU unlimited concessions as bribes.

We are in Europe we are by definition European we have a shared culture and values we are 'westernised'.

I've said it before and I'll say it again the ONLY reason for coming out of the EU are to remove 1. rights and 2. regulations.

[Michel Barnier
@MichelBarnier

To avoid any confusion between the EU backstop & the UK customs paper:
I reiterate that our backstop cannot apply to whole UK. 4 freedoms are indivisible.
This is not a rejection of the UK customs paper on which discussions continue. #Brexit
