TiBB'S TOP SONG OF 2015 Welcome to the Top Song of 2015. If you're not sure of what this whole shebang is, here're a few links to previous years: 2014: "Chandelier" by Sia 2013: "Work" by Iggy Azalea 2012: "Pyramids" by Frank Ocean 2011: "Midnight City" by M83 2010: "What's My Name (feat. Drake)" by Rihanna 2009: "Sweet Disposition" by the Temper Trap 2008: "Womanizer" by Britney Spears We'll begin with a Top 200 of the year, hand-picked through the following methods: - Any song that has appeared in the Top 15 of the UK single charts at any point from January 1 2015 to December 25 2015 (the last chart date of the year). - Just to make up the numbers and to make this a little more transatlantic, I also included a couple of songs that made the top 5 in the Billboard Hot 100 (but failed to make any impression here). - Of those, songs originally released prior to January 1 - either as a single, or on an album released before July 2014 - have been removed. - Also, songs that have appeared in previous editions of this game cannot count. - And finally, re-releases of songs don't count (sorry, Mariah Carey). - I've shoved in a handful of songs that did well in critics' "end of the year" lists from the likes of the Guardian, TimeOut, NME, Popjustice and Pitchfork too. I have bolded these. - To save the list from becoming too repetitive, artists are restricted to just their 3 highest-charting songs. This rule has only affected Justin Bieber, Sigma and The Weeknd this year. So here's how it will work.. PRELIMINARY ROUND I've compiled a list of 150 songs below, picked from singles that made the top 15 of the UK charts this year, songs that did well in critics' end-of-year lists (bolded), and songs you've voted or randomised into the game (red). QUALIFYING ROUND 49 songs were required to be voted into the game by the forum - that was done and that was that. Round 1: Out of the top 200, each member can choose their favourite TWENTY songs. The songs that get any votes will move onto Round 2. Round 2: Out of the top 112, each member chooses their least favourite THREE songs. The 10-15 with the most votes are eliminated. Round 3: Out of the top 102, each member chooses their favourite FIFTEEN songs. The 20 or so with the fewest votes are eliminated. Round 4: Out of round 3's bottom 34, each member chooses their least favourite THREE songs. The 10-15 with the most votes are eliminated. Round 5: Out of the top 71, each member chooses their favourite TEN songs and their least favourite TWO. Each "least favourite" vote counts as a minus-point for the totals. The 20 songs or so with the lowest combined totals at the end of the round are sent packing. Round 6: Out of the top 54, each member chooses their favourite TEN songs and their least favourite TWO (again). God knows how many will actually be eliminated. Round 7: Out of the top 41, each member chooses their favourite EIGHT songs. That is all for now. Round 8: Out of the top 32, each member chooses their favourite FIVE songs. Round 9: Out of the top 20, each member chooses their favourite FIVE songs. I'll leave it there because this is often too inconvenient and unpredictable to describe at the start of the game. I am rather worried that I've left a couple of songs out of the list that were in the UK top 15 but spent ages and ages climbing the top 40 so I forgot they were new releases by the time they made the top 15
 so if you see some I've forgotten feel free to let me know.
