So all that happened in the end was that a lot of lawyers have ended up with taxpayers money for fighting a futile court case.

The court case existed because May was going about the whole situation undemocratically, not to block Brexit. Parliament exists for a reason, May was trying to bypass it.

No,I don't believe that was the reason for the Wrexiteers bringing about the case.Gina and her cronies were trying to throw a spanner in the works and possibly even put a stop to Brexit.They knew that was their only route as they could'nt directly go against the will of the people.They had lawyers searching for anything they could or any loophole and that's what they came up with.In my humble opinion of course.

Presumably because she was aware, as were most people, that if Parliament blocked Brexit there would be civil unrest. Now we've had the expensive court case, parliament's initially voted in support of May and we're back to where we were before anyone decided it was illegal. Like I said previously, all that's changed is that a lot of lawyers will be sending in higher tax returns next year.
