Omg Julia Honour (whose name has a writing credit on around 50 episodes) isn't even a real person

It's a pseudonym used when an episode has had to be re-written because it wasn't fit to air but I think more recently has been used when the exec wants to write an episode

I have no idea whether new bosses coming in have all that much impact on what is currently being shown on screen or not, but Yorke is capable of producing good stuff so I would imagine it's just an improvment his end. Regardless that he may be guilty of dragging things out slightly, he's nowhere near as bad as SOC was so I'm really looking forward to this Christmas.

To be fair the show was in an absolute state when he took over so he's had to do a lot of damage control.

I think some of it has made the show feel boring because he's been trying to rebuild it but it's now paying off. The show has been excellent for about a month now.

It's had a bit of a Lorraine Newman feel to it, a stopping gap to clear up the state left from the last producer until the new permanent person comes in. It's been alright, if nothing spectacular. He made a couple of daft decisions like killing off Abi, but he's straightened things out for Kate and Jon to come in. Here's hoping they can reverse the ratings now.

Talking of SOC, this interview is a scream and sums him up perfectly imo.

It's taken from just after he left The Archers to move to Eastenders. He talks about his past career when he was a producer on Footballers Wives, one of THE trashiest most ridiculous shows on British Television and he says that he used to talk to the writers about being the Roman Empire, in that pretentious way he clearly relishes in. This was, I remind you, a show that during his time there featured a baby being smeared in fake tan to make it appear Asian and then was sat on and suffocated by a pug.
Similar to how he described Max Branning as a "Jacobean Revenge character." The man is a fruitloop.

Which, given her extremely poor posture and slack shoulders, is ridiculous.
