So in your own words you think British culture is bull**** and totally made up throughout history just so people can be racist?

Isnt this thread completely pointless then if you already decided the entire history of British culture is 'bull****'?

There is culture from all of the countries in the UK combined, arts, architecture, industry, music, food.....

Well no since it’s trying to pose a question and serious debate as to what we consider British culture... what?

I imagine it was quite a long time until it was appreciated though

Please stick to the thread topic about your own opinion of British Culture rather than attacking my own

I posted my opinion.

Sorry but LOL you attacked everyone that believes in British culture so take your own advice.

I await the faux outrage next time someone enters a thread about a different countries culture and calls it bull****.

It's not a debate if the OP rubbished everyone's opinion as bull**** without actually seeing any of them.

That is somewhat twisting it. The 'loss of British culture' - a very relevant debate given Brexit - is a debate I have personally witnessed descend into ignorant xenophobia with no one really declaring what is being lost. We hear 'Identity' etc but who can explain what that means. I think this is a very relevant thread and the fact it is descending into something of a farce shows how this point it often brought up but is so difficult to define.

Why do people take criticism and opinions about much wider themes and ideas personally? Critiquing the way we think about culture and it’s downsides isn’t a personal attack on any individual British person...

The point is that culture by its nature is a mish mash of everything. When people complain we're "losing British culture to foreigners" without realising the "culture" they're referring to is bits and pieces taken from around the globe in the first place.

I agree with the thread being a relevant debate had it not been created by someone who has no interest in anyones 'bull****' opinion and posted that.

That wasnt the point.

Smithys point that he posted was that he thinks all British culture is a bull**** excuse for people to be racist, so maybe not argue someone's point when they've already posted it for themselves?

I've not argued anyone's point but my own.

Yet every post you've made in here has been more about poster's than the topic. Stick to your own rules love.
