This isn't scientific.
I do have several of my own family who are NHS nursing staff.

They and the colleagues they work with.
Are in favour of the tests being done weekly.
As a routine.

For both their protection and the patients protection.

The main danger before was NHS staff weren't being tested at all, during the early period of this pandemic.

I'm sure others on here, have family and friends working in the NHS.
I wonder if they get a different view to all the ones I've been told of.

In the absence of full facts from NHS staff, we only have our views, and from anyone we know in the NHS.

I'd like to see, rather than MPs deciding this, for all NHS workers to be asked if they want this.

If I worked in the NHS, speaking only for myself, I would.
For the line I've been told.
To protect myself and ALL other patients too.

Sorry to break the end of this thread.

However if I've something to say I'll say it.

You are correct hijackers.
This atrocious Helen Whateley, cannot be trusted on her word at all.

She never even knew the losses of elderly loved ones in Care Homes losing their lives.

She was pressed twice on figures and issues by Piers Morgan.
Even when he was showing her the facts, she still stuck to a dumber line.

He was right when he asked, how was she still a Minister when she hadn't a clue on anything.

I'm not going to suddenly take her word as gospel.

As with PPE, plus testing, the real losses of loved ones.
This government has promised much but delivered next to nothing.

Frankly how Helen Whateley is to now be trusted, or even still allowed to make any promises after her ignorance and/or deceit, is a total insult.

My niece is a medical student, now working in the hospital to help out with covid.
My hairdressers daughter is a nurse on the covid itu ward.
Neither want testing as mandatory every fortnight, week or month, but are happy they have an option to have one if they feel the need.
So if staff are nervous then they can have the tests if they wish, as their choice.
On another note, hubby received a letter from the NHS yesterday asking if he would like to take part in the random home testing scheme. Looks quite straight forward.

Well. It’s abit too late for that. The majority of the public have voted this Government with an overwhelming majority that will allow them to do whatever for 5 years.

Time to stomach it and those will have no one to blame but themselves now.

Since becoming the chair of the Health and Social Care Committee.

I didn't rate him as a Health secretary, particularly over the junior Doctors dispute he helped inflame.
However he had a long stint as Health secretary so must have a fair knowledge of what is required.

He's right here, although that's just my opinion.

Yup, anyone gullible enough to vote tory only has themselves to blame at this point. A bunch of frogs that decided to trust a scorpion not to sting them and now they're realising they've already been stung.
