And Kevin Williamson's had a hissy fit over the Weinstein brothers making drastic changes to his script during shooting. He's not happy and refused to take part in a documentary which is due out in April in time for the film.

Ok from insiders, apparently Anna Paquin & Kristen Bell are killed off in the 1st scene, it turns out Shenae Grimes & Lucy Hale were watching them in a "Stab" movie, then they prank call their friends (Aimee Teegarden & Brittany Robertson) pretending to be ghostface, then Shenae & Lucy get the actual call and are killed. Then Aimee & Britt get the call and they think its still Shenae & Lucy, ghostface then comes into the house and Britt sees him but thinks its Shenae or Lucy then he starts stabbing the crap out of Aimee which is witnessed by Britt (hence the infamous scream in my sig) and theres a small chase scene but she makes it out alive and is later questioned by Dewey!

now that is all just specualtion but there is a high possibility that Brittany Robertsons character survives the opening kills.

I read a spoiler on ONTD from a girl whose friend was an extra...... apparently, according to her, Gail is killed in the barn scene you see in the trailer. IDK whether to believe it 100% or not, I wouldn't put it past this movie to film fake deaths just to throw people off (like how TV shows sometimes film numerous finales) but having said that, I've always said that one of the 'original trio' will bite the dust in this movie. IMO it's way too predictable if they all survive again.

Ooo sounds interesting. We will have to wait and see. I also think it will be predictable if the 3 originals all survive. One of them has to die. Not more than one though.. would be too devastating.

Wes Craven has admitted that Scream 4 does not feel like 'his' film.
The director of the franchise told followers on Twitter that he is losing control over the project because of changes in the writing team.
Scream 3 writer Ehren Kruger has been drafted in to reboot Kevin Williamson's script.
Speaking to Total Film, the horror legend said: "There was a bumpy period when things shifted over from Kevin to Ehren.
"I signed up to do a script by Kevin and unfortunately that didn't go all the way through the shooting."
He added that it is "not entirely" his film but his job is "much more bringing whatever experience and expertise and creativity I can".

I hope this doesn't mean there's a similarity to Scream 3. In my opinion that's the weakest film out of the trilogy. It needs the originality back.

i have the opening scene sussed i think

It opens up with Sherrie (Lucy Hale) and Trudie (Shenae Grimes) they get the phone call ITS FOR YOU blah blah door bell rings they scream Sherrie goes to check she dies, then Trudie dies. Then it pans out and shows Rachel (Anna Paquin) & Chloe (Kristen Bell) Rachel talks about how **** it was and Chloe thought it was scary, rachel gets up to get a drink, and i dnt no what happens then? rumour has it Chloe snaps and stabs the **** out of Rachel. Then we have Marnie Cooper (Brittany Robertson) & Jenny Randall (Aimee Teegarden) somehow watching the movie but me thinks there not in the same house? Marnie gets the call blah blah she runs he chases sidelines her (like in the trailer) and then we dont no what happens. Possibly next door? Jenny gets the call and he quizzes her like in the short clip and Marnie comes crashing through the doors dead then he chases Jenny and kills her in the basement...

im really not 2 sure bout the 1st 2 parts of the sequence but im almost positive with Britt/Aimee one

But reviews have stated that its the bloodiest entry.
Plus what youve got to remember is, horror films have changed over the last ten years. Its only the extreme violent films that get an 18 rating these days.

I love Courtney and David together. Their chemistry on Scream. They are just an amazing couple. Lol Courtney says David is a sex addict!!

Happy Scream 4 Day everyone! I'm seeing it tonight and rewatched the first 3 yesterday.

I also read the original Scream 2 screenplay knowing that originally there were going to be 3 killers (Mrs Loomis, Derek and Hallie) but I did not know that Dewey was actually dead, that Cotton would then kill Mrs Loomis AND Gale and fight Sidney (thus becomming a 4th killer), and that it'd end with Sid and Cotton both lying on the stage with their eyes closing. I'm glad they changed the ending so much. What would Scream 3 have been about? We find out Sid is in fact alive, but who else? It seemed so overblown. :crazy:

I don't wanna read any spoiler before tonight but I was thinking as I rewatched the trilogy last night maybe Scream 4 would be a good starting ground for a new trilogy and that perhaps some old characters (The original Woodsboro sherrif, the Scream 2 sorority sisters played by Portia De Rossi and Rebecca Gayheart, and even Randy's sister!) could all slowly come back in Screams 5 and 6.

Don't know where you've got that from. All the reviews seems to range from mixed to very positive. Only one or two bad ones. Most probably from people who aren't within the target audience.

Either way people are saying it's at least better than 2 and 3, which in 3's case is a good thing. The only thing I'm apprehensive about is Emma Roberts performance, critics haven't been kind to her.

Was not too bad. Really loved the beginning and the comedy. Still liking all the references they make. Seems a bit weird with that cousin though, and the guy. They were both skinny as anything and getting booted about all over the place. Sydney always seemed to kick their arse. I guess it was just a parody of itself but in a good way. I thought Hayden was really good in it too :love: And Neve is still looking hot as ever :love: Courney Cox has aged bad though :shocked:

the opening was hilarious and really smart, i did not see Anna/Kristen scene coming at all, when Kristen stabbed Anna the whole cinema gasped and was like wtf, Britt/Aimee scene was average, Britts chase should have been shown. Olivias death was oh so brutal, felt kinda sorry for her, my favourite death scene though was Rebeccas, omg i loved her! it was so intense and when Ghostface jumped on the car i nearly peed myself, the revelation of Jill being the killer was amazingly well done, didnt no Emma Roberts could act so pyscho, the last 40 minutes was superb, so intense and exciting, i honestly thought Sidney was dead that time and that Jill was going to get away with it! Im so happy shes dead now cause what a bitch she was, and poor Trevors penis, i cringed watching that!

for me 9/10

This film was just awesome! A real treat for the fans of the first 3 (or 2). I'm still reflecting on it for my article but wow, it had the most deaths and gore. Apparently these days films are rated 18 if the violence is sexualised so unless Ghostface starts shagging his victim's corpses you cna get away with a lot in a 15 film these days.
At times I thought there were too many characters that were all fun but were underused e.g. the cops, Rebecca, Jill's mum. I loved Jill, Kirby, Trevor, Robbie, Charlie and Judy though! And it was good to see where the 3 survivors of the trilogy went with Dewey being more successsful than Gale this time and Gale's jealousy of Sidney lol.
And OMG!...
1) The killers! My mate read online somewhere it might be Charlie and Jill and he told me his theories so I kinda kept that in my mind but they played it so well. Rory Culkin appeared quite endearing and Emma Roberts was ******ing mad! I think she's my favourite killer out of all 7 of them. Also liked that it didn't end at the house. The hospital scene was a great addition.
2) The amount of deaths! As I said yesterday Scream 2 was gonna end with pretty much everyone dying and I was quite shocked that so many interesting characters bit the dust this time. I keep trying to figure out what Scream 5 and 6 would be about and initially thought the theme would be 'Sequels of remakes' like The Hills Have Eyes 2 or Texas Chainsaw Massacre: The Beginning and so it'd take all the surviving teenagers on to college but somehow I don't think that's gonna happen lol. Really want a Scream 5 and 6 after this.

Here is my review of the film.


I thought the opening was fantastic, with the Stab 6 and 7, but I think we could of had more time with the Woodsboro girls. Just an extra 2 minutes would of done. There wasn't really much character development, so I didn't really feel for them, like I did with Casey in the first one.
Its great to see the original trio back together. Gale was hilarious. Great dialogue from Kevin Williamson.
I loved Judy Hicks. I think she was creepy, and an obvious red herring, but I loved her.
Olivia's death:shocked:
She wasn't much of a character but my god, no one deserves that. It was terrifying and brutal. Poor girl.
Loved the line from Ghostface, 'Im gonna cut off your eyelids so you can't blink when I stab you in the face'.
I liked Rebeccas death. It was suspenseful.
When Perkins dies I thought it was a little unrealistic. How anyone could get out of a car and walk up the road, when an 12inch knife has just been inserted into your head is beyond me.
I thought the comedy at that point wasn't needed.
Robbie's death was ok. Everyone in the cinema laughed when he told the killer he was gay.
Can't believe they killed off Kirby. I hope she made it through. After all Dewey has been stabbed repeatedly throughout the franchise and made it.
Charlie was actually a likeable killer. I knew Jill was gonna screw him over.
Jill was a brilliant pyscho. I thought Sidney was dead:nono:
The hospital scene at the end was great.

Also the best line in the film and possibly the franchise,
'Your forgetting one thing about remakes Jill. Don't **** with the original.

The one thing that REALLY annoyed me was the amount of things that were cut from the film.
Pretty much everything in the trailer wasn't in the film.
I was really looking forward to Gale's, 'Go ahead if you have the guts'
Hopefully the DVD will have them. Like a directors cut.

Overall I think it was definatley worth the wait. I really enjoyed it, and I think it ranks with the first film easily. Far better than the third, and I think in terms of gore and blood, it outweighs the first three films put together.
Can't really see where Scream 5 could go from, coz everyone's been slashed up. But I hope it gets made.

I thought Olivia'a death was awesome; the being able to see her and not being able to help! Brilliant!
I agree with some of the comments saying they wished Kirby hadn't died, but that's just because she was cute and likeable. However somebody had to die when the killer was revealed and I thought it was awesome, however predictable when she was un-tying him. Overall I thought it was really well done and the storyline was good as it relied on Jill bring epically psychotic. Without that a storyline would have been hard to come by. Thought Sidney survived a lot! Stabbing, breaking stitches and getting the shizer kicked out of her LOL but at the end of the day she knows best how to survive! I knew the death count before I watched and I heard rumours about Sid dying at it was something like 9 deaths when the final house scene took place so I was thinking 'noo! Sid!'

Gale was awesome, Dewey and the deputy were good characters too, I agree - great red herring! Cant think of much else to say except i'll give it a 8/10 :)

I think it was pretty much implied she died. At least with Scream 1 and 2 the audience saw Dewey being carried out, still alive, on the stretcher. Kirby didn't even get that so it might be a bit of a cop out for Scream fans even if they did like the character. I know I really liked her character but it seemed like there's no coming back for her

I had people on Facebook saying it's crap and not scary and i'll admit that if I was going to watch it as a horror fan I would be dissapointed. However; as a huge Scream fan, it was pretty much perfect!

I think it's very much assumed she's dead because the audience didn't see her carried out on a stretcher like Dewey was in Screams 1 or 2, and he didn't tell Jill she was still alive either. BUT, far-fetched, we didn't see her die. We saw Charlie leave her for dead. I'll treat her as officially dead based on the previous reasons though.

If she did pull through I'd love for Kirby to go to Windsor college and the theme would be 'sequels of remakes' such as Rob Zombie's Halloween 2 or The Hills Have Eyes 2.

I can't stop stressing how I'd love some other surviving characters to come back if there were to be a Scream 5. Patrick Dempsey's character, Martha (Randy's sister as the new Randy?), Portia De Rossi and Rebecca Gayheart etc.

This movie was flawless. At first I was like omg, because I thought I wasn't going to really get into it, but when the hype started and when Olivia ( I think that's the characters name) died, it all just went up from there.

I had high expectations and not only were they met, but they were exceeded.

I honestly can't think of anything bad about the film. It was damn near perfect. I cared about most of the characters even though their were so many.

I'm inclined to believe that as well, they could easily say she's alive - fair enough Dewey didn't mention her when he spoke to Jill in the hospital but he wouldn't necessarily mention it anyway, or they could imply that he didn't know at that time - whatever really. I really hope Kirby is in Scream 5, she was an excellent character and I loved Hayden in the role. I think my favourite two moments from her were in the police station when she was like "does that mean I'm going to die sooner than those two?" and her facial expressions when she and Charlie got interrupted LOL. :love:

Returning cast will surely be Neve, Courteney, David, Marley Shelton and Hayden Panettiere? They didn't make any reference to Patrick Dempsey's character Detective Kincaid in the film, so if they ever intended on bringing him back they could retrospectively say he's still in a relationship with Sidney, he just wouldn't necessarily be touring the country with her while she's promoting her book. He was quite a good character and it seems a bit sloppy to just not mention him in the fourth film, so to me that suggests there's a plan to bring him back? IDK.

I really loved Scream 4 though, perfect blend of humour and horror and it was such an improvement on Scream 2 and 3!

well in Scream Billy killed Steve,Casey & Tatum and Stu killed The principal and Kenny.

In Scream 2 Mickey killed Phil, Maureen, Cici, Cops, Hallie & Derek while Mrs Loomis only killed Randy.

I just watched this, it was a lot better then I thought it was going to be although I did guess the killers very quickly, the way the Ex Boyfriend kept showing up made it to obvious to be him and it made no sense for it to be Kirby or the guy with the camera on his head. Apart from being too obvious though I really enjoyed it. Very funny in parts.

Yes and no. Scream 4 can stand on it's own as a standalone sequel and can be enjoyed as a slasher flick but if you haven't seen the first three or the first at the least then you won't really feel for the original trio as much. The emotional depth will be wasted on you.

Yes, I went with my two mates and made one of them watch the 3 online as he hadn't seen them before.
He told me when we left that he would of been lost had he not of watched the other 3, because as Glenn said to understand the 3 Main characters you should watch the first 3.

But then again the other dude I went with said found it really confusing in some parts because he didn't watch the past 3, but he still really loved it.

So it's up to you really, but yeah Glenn's right it does stand alone - however they make a few references to the past movies, especially in the ending.

Here's the lowdown on the Scream saga.

Scream- opens with Casey Becker getting a call while she's home alone. She's going to watch a scary movie, and she's making popcorn.
She flirts with the person on the phone then it's gets sinister. We find out quite quickly that the person on the phone is a little knife happy and her boyfriend(whos tied to a chair in the garden) gets gutted. Then poor Casey dies and her parents find her hanging by a tree with her insides on the outside.
We then meet Sidney Prescott and her boyfriend, Billy Loomis.
Her boyfriend is a little horny and wants to have sex with her but she's a little upset as she found her mother murdered a year before. Cotton Weary is standing trial and is awaiting the Death sentence for the crime.
Gale weathers is a bitchy reporter and is reporting on the murders.
Her and Dewey who is the deputy of Woodsboro flirt a little.
A couple more people get killed including Deweys sister Tatum by a garage door.
It turns out that Billy and his nutbag friend Stu are the killers who killed sidneys mother a year before because Maureen (Sids mum) was having an affair with billys dad.
Sidney kills them. End of scream.
Rules outlined in the film

Scream 2- the film opens at a sneak preview of the movie Stab. Based on the murders of the original movie. Maureen Evans and Phil Stevens get killed, poor Maureen getting stabbed to death in front of a cinema full of people thinking it's a publicity stunt.
Sidneys in college now. Gales still a reporter and Dewey just comes and goes. They flirt a little more.
People get killed by a copycat killer.
It turns the killer is Billy loomis' mother and Mickey one of sidneys friends. Sidney kills them with the help of cotton weary. Sid let's cotton take the hero route enabling him to get his story across.
Rules noted in the film.
The bodycount is always bigger
The death scenes are a lot more elaborte

Scream 3- the film opens with cotton weary on the phone talking to his agent. He gets a call from a girl and it turns sinister. It's the killer with an upgraded voice changer. He can mimic pretty much everyone. Cotton and his girlfriend die.
Sidney is now living in isolation. Gale gets recruited by the Cops to help solve the murders.
The film is set in Hollywood on set of the newest Stab movie. Stab 3: Return to Woodsboro, the third and final movie based on the Woodsboro and Windsor College murders. The cast start dying in order they died In the film. It turns out sidneys mum went to hollywood to get a break in he movies, she was raped and fell pregnant,giving birth to a child, who she put up for adoption.
The killer turns out to be roman sidneys half brother. Sidney kills him.
Can't think of the rules but it was on trilogies.

Cici had a couple of other scenes which were cut out. In the scene when we first meet the two sorority girls you can see Sarah Michelle Gellar in the background after a scene which should have come before it.

Guys I just watched Scream 4 again there now and I just kind of realized something, I'm looking too far into it but it's weird:

When Oliva is about to be killed, and Ghost Face is in the closest [lol] he's talking to Kirby on the phone.
But how the hell would Oliva not hear him talking on the phone?

The other murders, It would of been Emma Roberts doing the talking and Charlie killing, or vice versa but Jill was standing in her room with Kirby when Oliva got gutted.

Oh and after paying more attention to Kirby's death this time round, I have to say it really doesn't look like she made it tbh.
Charlie does say 'It doesn't happen as fast as in the movies, eh?' when he cut her open - but other than that, it just looks like she died.

You could argue that Dewey didn't mention her because he didn't find her, but let's be honest, they had a whole fleet of Police at the house - she would of been found.
If they bring her back, it'll be a bit of a cop out as someone else said a few pages back, but oh well.

Cotton was the best character


Cotton was a God.
Especially in Scream 3; 'Hey so are you a big 100% Cotton fan :wink:'

Characters like Randy, Cotton and Tatum - they were loved by so many people and were clearly the best characters and yet they were barely shown.

Obviously Cotton had to die, there was nowhere else for him to go even though he was a legend.
But Tatum and Randy very well could of survived for another few movies.
