Yes and David Arquette and Courtney Cox are both confirmed for the film while Neve Campbell said she was in nagotiation with the producers so we don't know if she's doing it. I'm very excited to !

I'm not too optimistic for it, chances are it'll be a quickly produced cash cow to earn some quick money for it's stars and studio. It could be good but I'd bet my bottom dollar on it being crap. Scream 3 started to turn sour but it wrapped up the storyline, they should leave it alone.

From what Ive read, its going to be the start of a new trilogy, and all three have been penned by the same bloke who wrote the first one.
It would be nice to see Neve back for this one, even if its just a small appearance.

Jamie Kennedy, Who apparently hasn't been kidnapped and sold as a sex slave like we all have hoped, gave some info to ifmagazine.com about a 4th scream movie:

"I actually had a conversation with somebody very big in the organization, and there’s a way," he tells iF. "I don’t know what’s going to happen, but they have plans for a lot of things. You can see new faces that you wouldn’t expect and you can see old faces that you wouldn’t believe. There’s a way to bring a lot of things around."

I'm hoping this isn't true. The Scream franchise ran out of steam after, well, after the first one. But if Wes can write a good enough story then anything is possible. And who doesn't want to see Jamie Kennedy on the big screen again after his string of blockbuster hits?

The problem with him coming back is that he's quite obviously grown older since the original Scream trilogy. It'll be odd to see Randy come back in a video or flashback looking older then he did when his character died. Plus he's probably busy enough with filming for Ghost Whisperer.

Gale and Dewey were always my faves anyway, it wouldn't be the same without them.

I think they should do what they did with A Nightmare on Elm Street.

Make a "New Nightmare" thing, were the cast from the originals who died and didnt die are in it playing themselves, 8 years after Scream finished.

And then the killings start in real life...

Its really good if you ever seen A Nightmare on Elm St New Nightmare.

I would love to see this, and I pray its good. Scream 3 was good but disappointing, they can't end Scream with a sour note, and I hope this one will give it the ending it deserves.

Rumors are swirling that Neve Campbell has refused to reprise her role as "Sidney Prescott" in the next Scream film. Many sites have cited Kevin Williamson's Twitter page to be the source of such news, yet, when I just checked it, the news was gone. We'll see what happens. The evolution of Dewey and Gale's relationship in the Scream franchise has been an interesting one. Can't say I agreed with where it went in the third chapter, but from the sounds of it, writer Kevin Williamson is taking things to the next level for the pair in Scream 4 and the "new trilogy" he's fashioning.

Courteney Cox recently revealed during a press conference that Gale Weathers "has a kid now" and is indeed married to Dewey, essayed again by David Arquette (her real life husband). And, as it has been revealed earlier, Dewey is a sheriff. "I heard the idea for Scream 4, and it's fantastic," the actress said.

The idea of a kid scares the hell out of me. Will it be an infant? Maybe, in that case, I'm not so worried. But, a mischievous ten-year-old? That could spell trouble.

Williamson is at work writing the script while overseeing the CW's The Vampire Diaries. If all goes according to plan, Scream 4 should start rolling cameras next year...that is, if the cast doesn't blow the entire story beforehand thus negating any need to see the film at all.

Kevin Williamson is wirting the script. It is still unknown whether Wes will even be back. It depends on the script and which direction Kevin is taking the new franchise. It should be good, as Kevin wrote the first two films:thumbs:

Well it's certainly a better idea then doing a total reboot of the series in my books.
God, it'd be just another franchise for those money hungry hollywood types to ruin.
They've already ruined the "Halloween" Franchise, the "Texas Chainsaw Massacre" franchise, the "Friday the 13th" and "Nightmare on Elm Street" franchises, the "Alien" and "Predator" franchises, and soon to be ruined "Fame" and "Wizard of Oz" franchises.

Well scream is all about Sydney, if she was killed off, who would be focused on next? Maybe Sydney will get pregnant and have a baby and before the killer kills her (after she has the baby) the killer will say.. There has been a major update on Scream 4 via Kevin Williamson, from various interviews and such. It takes place 10 years after Scream 3 (we knew that anyway), and it is set in the sleepy little town of Woodsboro!
So its going back to its roots so to speak.

I think that’s safe to say. I’ve very excited about it. At this point in my career, Scream is one of the longest running stories I’ve told. It’s fascinating to still have actors who are very much into continuing their roles and have great chemistry. Part of the reason these three characters are still alive is because they’re so great. We haven’t wanted to kill them.

And, should Scream 4 become a hit, you are signed on for Scream 5 and 6, right?

Ashley Greene as Jill Kessler; Sidney's cousin and new main character of the film. She is described as "Pretty in an ingenue way. Smart, strong. A little goofy, but she makes it sexy. Full of contradictions, but instantly likeable." She is supposedly not close with her cousin Sidney.
Hayden Panettiere as Kirby Reed;Jill's best friend. "Cute and quirky, was a tomboy until a year ago... now she's alternative, and sexy. She's a pop culture, horror aficionado," and "a nerdy film geek".
Rory Culkin as Charlie Walker; "Messy cute... friends with Jill and Kirby. Likens himself to Randy Meeks without the geek part, but no so such luck... he's a geek. He may have a crush on Jill, but he'll never admit to it if he does."

Scream creator Kevin Williamson has allegedly been replaced as screenwriter on the latest instalment in the horror franchise.

According to Zap2It, director Wes Craven has drafted in Ehren Kruger to work on the script for the currently in-production sequel.

Williamson, who penned the first two Scream films before Kruger came on board to write the third, is now said to have no involvement in the series.

Sources have claimed that Hayden Panettiere is "beyond frustrated with the changes" to the script as her character "used to be really sharp" but has been "dumbed down significantly".

The deputy sheriff role for Marley Shelton, recently vacated by Lake Bell, has also been cut down and Lauren Graham is said to have quit the project after losing screen time in her role as Emma Roberts's mother.

Kruger's other writing credits include Transformers: Revenge Of The Fallen and The Ring, while Williamson is a producer on The CW show Vampire Diaries.

Courteney Cox's Scream character Gale Weathers is rumoured to be the killer in the fourth instalment of the slasher movie series.

The 46-year-old actress has played the TV reporter in the last three flicks and reports are claiming she may be the murderer in the next movie as she has been spotted on set holding the famous ghost mask the killer wears.

However, it could just be that her character has found the mask or that she is being chased herself.

The movie also stars Cox's husband David Arquette as well as new stars Hayden Panettiere, Adam Brody and Emma Roberts. It will not be released until April next year

IMO Courtney probably survives and had to film her scenes so she could get back to her TV work. If any of the originals are going to die it's liekly to be Sidney because Neve Campbell didn't really want to be in the third one through fear of typecasting which is why Dewey and Gale were in it more than her.

Yeah I think if 4 is a success then there should be no reason not to do a 5th and 6th one. The cast looks okay. A bit "young" though with Emma Roberts in and that. I hope they are decent at acting in a horror film.

Since the trailer was leaked a friend and I have been speculating a lot of things about this movie including some deaths and already who we think the killer might be lol. When I say 'A lot' I mean a lot so don't read if you want to remain completely surprised and it turns out one of these theories is correct. :)

Theory 1) Gale dies! I think someone reported Courtney Cox finished filming early and this could be because of her busy schedule on Cougar Town, however, the released pics and the trailer seem to show a lot of that scene where she says "Do it if you have the guts!" to the killer. It makes me think she might not be in the film much at all and that this scene could very well be Gale's death scene. Hope not though

Theory 2) Sidney or Jill (Emma Roberts) die. Sidney because it could mark the end of her reign as the Scream queen and have over the baton to Jill seein as Neve Campbell was apprehensive about doing Screams 2 and 3 as well. Or, perhaps, if Jill is just a carbon copy of Sidney (being virginal in this film) and with the new rule that virgins can now die, maybe she'll bite the dust because she simply isn't Sidney.

Theory 3) Sidney or Jill is the killer! Sidney because Wes Craven claims Sidney's bene living in peace for the last decade and now has to deal with more killings. Perhaps this is a red herring and she's now as insane as everyone who tried to kill her and could relate back to that bathroom scene in the first film when the bitchy school girl said "It ******ed her up royally." So, another way for Sidney to hand over the reigns. Or, seeing as how ******ed up her family is, and because this isn't a straightforward remake of the original Scream, Jill could be the killer.

Theory 4) Trevor (Nico Tortorella) is the killer, or one of the killers. Seeing as Scream 4 will parody more sequels and recent remakes you'll notice Scream 4 is a sort of remake of the first film apart from Sidney, Gale and Dewey being in it. Jill is the 'remake' Sidney, Hayden Panettiere's Kirby is the new Tatum, Rory Culkin's Charlie is the new Randy, and Trevor is the new Billy. Maybe there's another Stu out there helping Trevor re-enact Billy and Stu's murders?

The one I'm hoping for...

Theory 5) Marley Shelton's character is the killer! Her character is described as "Having known Sidney during high school", and back when it was reported Lake Bell was going to play this character it was suggested she cares about her boss Dewey, "Perhaps a bit too much". If Gale does die (Theory 1) the motive for Shelton's character could be to get her out of the way in order to get to Dewey or something like that. Maybe she even kills Dewey? If she can't have him, no one can?

Since the trailer was leaked a friend and I have been speculating a lot of things about this movie including some deaths and already who we think the killer might be lol. When I say 'A lot' I mean a lot so don't read if you want to remain completely surprised and it turns out one of these theories is correct. :)

Theory 1) Gale dies! I think someone reported Courtney Cox finished filming early and this could be because of her busy schedule on Cougar Town, however, the released pics and the trailer seem to show a lot of that scene where she says "Do it if you have the guts!" to the killer. It makes me think she might not be in the film much at all and that this scene could very well be Gale's death scene. Hope not though

Theory 2) Sidney or Jill (Emma Roberts) die. Sidney because it could mark the end of her reign as the Scream queen and have over the baton to Jill seein as Neve Campbell was apprehensive about doing Screams 2 and 3 as well. Or, perhaps, if Jill is just a carbon copy of Sidney (being virginal in this film) and with the new rule that virgins can now die, maybe she'll bite the dust because she simply isn't Sidney.

Theory 3) Sidney or Jill is the killer! Sidney because Wes Craven claims Sidney's bene living in peace for the last decade and now has to deal with more killings. Perhaps this is a red herring and she's now as insane as everyone who tried to kill her and could relate back to that bathroom scene in the first film when the bitchy school girl said "It ******ed her up royally." So, another way for Sidney to hand over the reigns. Or, seeing as how ******ed up her family is, and because this isn't a straightforward remake of the original Scream, Jill could be the killer.

Theory 4) Trevor (Nico Tortorella) is the killer, or one of the killers. Seeing as Scream 4 will parody more sequels and recent remakes you'll notice Scream 4 is a sort of remake of the first film apart from Sidney, Gale and Dewey being in it. Jill is the 'remake' Sidney, Hayden Panettiere's Kirby is the new Tatum, Rory Culkin's Charlie is the new Randy, and Trevor is the new Billy. Maybe there's another Stu out there helping Trevor re-enact Billy and Stu's murders?

Her character is described as "Having known Sidney during high school", and back when it was reported Lake Bell was going to play this character it was suggested she cares about her boss Dewey, "Perhaps a bit too much". If Gale does die (Theory 1) the motive for Shelton's character could be to get her out of the way in order to get to Dewey or something like that. Maybe she even kills Dewey? If she can't have him, no one can?

Yeah I think if 4 is a success then there should be no reason not to do a 5th and 6th one. The cast looks okay. A bit "young" though with Emma Roberts in and that. I hope they are decent at acting in a horror film.

I hops Scream 4's as good as 1-3 and that there'll eb another 2 but what what the next 2 be about? Scream 1 obviously mocked/homaged horror movies, Scream 2 parodied sequels, Scream 3 was more about satirizing Hollywood in general and a bit about trilogies and Scream 4 will eb about endless sequels (again) and remakes so where does that leave Scream 5 and 6? Prequels, sidequels (spin-offs) and straight to DVD? God I hope not to any of them lol

I knew that and I'm glad Hallie and Derek weren't the second and third killer. I love Scream 1 and 2 but from what I gather Kevin Williamson is quite flawed. In the commentary for Scream 1 he admits he only killed Principal Himbry because the Weinsteins told him he needed another death scene and he hadn't really thought about why a lot of the teenagers would have left the party.
Also, I hope the killer in Scream 4 is a woman because otherwise Mrs Loomis will remain the only female killer

Well referring to someone's theory about Gale dying. I would be pretty pissed off if that was the case and they'd put her dying words in the teaser trailer. That's pretty lame.

Also, after watching the teaser and hearing the new rule about the killer wanting to film the murders. (Don't know how that's new, they've done that in movies for years), it's making me think that Gale sets that scene up. Not because she's the killer but because she is running out of ideas for her writing and she's maybe not as famous as she used to be so she fakes a Ghostface attack and posts it on the internet without realising that Ghostface is in fact back and hears about whatever actual murder.
Probably not true but it's a possibility. Also, don't think Courtney finishing filming early says anything about ow much of the movie she's in because I heard a rumour that they filmed different versions of the climax/reveal scenes early on during shooting.

This. I love the trailers at the cinema. Scream 4 should be advertised as a trailer too! I hope it's going to be good. 1, 2 and 3 were all good. I think they need to keep the main original characters for as long as possible like Sydney, Gail and Dewey. However if both Gail and Dewey are still alive at the end of Scream 4.. will they both come back and do Scream 5? Seeing as thought Courtney and David have split :( Shame. They both suited each other. I hope they get back together.


I just think if they kill off Sydney, Dewey or Gail in this film we are left with teeny boppers to make the following sequels which I just don't think will be as good. Films need to end on a high!! If anyone is going to replace Sydney, Dewey or Gail they really have to be good actors. Actors who have been in other stuff before perhaps who have proved to be good actors. Don't want any trailer trash!

But then it turns out that Hayden Panetierre and Emma Roberts are watching the opening to another Stab movie. Movie within a movie within a movie is what I heard. Hayden's character Kirby is apparently a "Stab freak" and is the female equivalent of Randy.
