Why doesn't anyone in hollyoaks smoke?

The production company may be banned from showing it because it may encourage smoking

They had Dot smoking in Eastenders all the time. I suppose though, but the students would be going more crazy in real life lol They only show smoking when someone has a 'problem'

Nature of the show, probably. It's on earlier and it's aimed particularly at more of a young audience than the other soaps.

Mind you the acting quality in Hollyoaks makes death by lung cancer a rather inviting and relatively tame prospect.

Ahhh indeed, some are so terrible, just a pretty face and all that.
